Rent a car in Zurich
Explore Zurich at Your Leisure
Renting a car in Zurich opens up a world of possibilities for your travel itinerary. With your own set of wheels, you can easily drive to the stunning Lake Zurich for a serene day out or head to the nearby Uetliberg Mountain for breathtaking views of the city and the Alps. Enjoy the freedom to visit these attractions on your own schedule, without the constraints of public transportation.
Inspect Your Rental Car
Upon receiving your rental car, take the time to do a thorough inspection. Look for any pre-existing damage and make sure the rental agency notes it down to prevent any future disputes. It's wise to take pictures or even a video as a precaution. Familiarize yourself with the rental agreement's details, including the insurance coverage, mileage restrictions, and fuel policy, to avoid unexpected charges.
Child Safety Regulations
Switzerland mandates that all children under 12 years old or shorter than 150 cm must use an appropriate child restraint system. Check with your rental agency if they can provide the necessary car seats, and confirm their availability at your pickup location. Not adhering to these regulations can result in fines and put children at risk.
Avoiding Traffic in Zurich
Zurich, like any major city, can experience heavy traffic, particularly during rush hours. Plan your travel to avoid peak times, typically between 7-9 am and 5-7 pm on weekdays. When driving in the city center, stay alert as the streets can be bustling and complex, with trams sharing the road space.
Cost-Effective Travel
While Zurich has an efficient public transport system, renting a car can be a more economical choice, especially if you're traveling in a group or planning to visit multiple destinations outside the city. With a rental car, you have the convenience to visit attractions like the Rhine Falls or the picturesque town of Lucerne at your own pace.
Convenient Pickup Locations
Zurich offers several convenient locations for picking up your rental car, including Zurich Airport, where you'll find a variety of rental agencies ready to serve you. Choose from a range of vehicles to suit your needs and budget, and start your Swiss adventure as soon as you land.
Driving in Switzerland
When driving in Zurich and the rest of Switzerland, remember that traffic moves on the right-hand side of the road. Road signs are typically in German, French, Italian, and sometimes English, so consider a rental car with GPS navigation to ease your travel. Be mindful of the strict laws against drunk driving and always adhere to the speed limits to ensure a safe journey.

Fantastic Kodiaq (5+2 seater) Skoda 7 day
Car Condition was excellent and feels great to drive around in Switzerland. The car was very clean and my family was very comfortable. We had 5 pax and it could fit all 5 luggage perfectly. Important to check and take photos of your car before, there was some minor damage on the bumper.
