Have you picked out your Halloween costume yet?

In South Korea, Halloween is a relatively new holiday. You won't see as many homes decked in spooky decor or kids knocking on doors to trick or treat. However, the celebration is quickly gaining popularity as more people realize how much fun it can be, with most of the action taking place in districts like Itaewon.
October 31 is the time of year when kids and adults alike get themselves into the most creative Halloween costumes. It's also a time for horror-themed events to start creeping up left and right. Here's how you can celebrate this peculiar night in South Korea.

    1. Dark Side of Seoul Ghost Walking Tour

The Dark Side of Seoul is not your typical walking tour in the sense that it brings the country’s dark history and folklore to life. Journey through the off-beaten path as you’re retold stories of murders, hideaways, and deadly ghosts. Some of the sites you’ll visit include a haunted neighborhood and an eerie bridge, which make it the perfect itinerary for a Halloween in Korea.

    2. Seoul Land Mardi Gras 2022

While Seoul Land’s October event centers on New Orleans’ Mardi Gras, it’s still got the essence of Halloween. Instead of dressing up in hopes of taking home a bag of treats, you get to spend the night partying, tasting delicious craft beer, and witnessing lively band performances. The colorful carnival decorations and wacky masks make up for the lack of jack-o-lanterns.

    3. Lotte World “Horror Halloween”

The whimsical Lotte World turns into a zombie island during the Halloween season and the undead are out to get revenge. Hop on the Escape train at Magic Island and witness the Magic Castle illuminate in blood-colored lights. Lotti and Lori are even hosting a cosplay party with Halloween Ghosts so park guests can celebrate Halloween in Korea.

Everland has consistently been celebrating the spooky season for the last few years. This year, two festivities are coming our way; “Happy Halloween” will cater to younger audiences, while horror fans delight in “Blood City 6.” What could be a more fitting venue to host Halloween in Korea than a theme park? Parades, Halloween costumes, and haunted attractions await you this October!
