Home to glitzy casinos, great food and historical remnants of its colonial past, it’s no wonder Macau is a popular holiday destination! The best part? It’s just a ferry ride away from Hong Kong.
There are two main Macau ferry operators from Hong Kong – TurboJet and Cotai Water Jet. In this article we break down what you need to know about ferry travel so you can just sit back, relax, and enjoy your trip in Macau!

Choosing between TurboJet and Cotai Water Jet depends on where you are heading to in Macau!
If you’re visiting Macau for the first time, we recommend TurboJet as it docks at Macau’s Outer Harbor Ferry Terminal which is within close proximity to the city center. Major attractions like Macau Tower, Senado Square and the Ruins of St Paul’s are also found on this side of Macau.
However, if your itinerary consists of the latest casinos and hotels like The Venetian, Hard Rock Cafe and the Parisian Macao (Eiffel Tower Hotel), we recommend taking the Cotai Water Jet. The Cotai Water Jet ferry docks at Taipa Ferry Terminal, just 5 minutes away from the City of Dreams!
