3. Cafe by the Ruins

One of the most beloved and frequently visited restaurants in Baguio is Cafe By The Ruins. 8. BenCab Museum

If you haven’t already visited BenCab Museum, aka the coolest artistic place in the city - this is your sign. Named after the gallery’s main artist Benedicto Cabrera, the museum houses collections of his artworks, tribal artifacts, indigenous art from the Cordillera region, as well as masterpieces from other Filipino contemporary artists. 9. Mt. Cloud Bookshop

One of the coziest tourist spots in Baguio which book lovers will appreciate is this quaint underground book haven. Mt. Cloud is nestled in a boxy basement space in Casa Vallejo, the oldest hotel in Baguio, which also features a restaurant, cinematheque, a spa, and a sporting goods store. Here you will find works from Filipino authors, Filipiniana titles in different genres such as general fiction, children’s, humanities, comics, as well as regional interests.

10. Diplomat Hotel

Though originally built as a retreat house for the friars, this abandoned building’s past has been anything but peaceful. This old hotel atop Dominican Hill is a favorite spot for ghost hunting or paranormal exploration because of its history. This is why the supposed haunted ruin attracts an impressive number of visitors and is now under rehabilitation as a Heritage and Nature Park. 11. Good Shepherd

For the final leg of your Baguio getaway, a visit to The Good Shepherd is pretty much a given. Here you can buy all sorts of delicious local goodies from their famous ube and strawberry jams, to homemade bread, peanut brittle, and more. 12. Boating or Biking at Burnham Park

Despite being a popular tourist destination, Burnham Park remains an integral part of any visitor’s itinerary. Here, tourists can leisurely stroll along Burnham Lagoon, and marvel at the numerous flower beds, and more. Entrance to Burnham Park is free but you can rent a boat for as low as P150, should you decide to enjoy a cruise, and a bike for P50 an hour. Burnham Park is conveniently located near other tourist spots in Baguio such as Mines View Park and the Baguio Cathedral.

15. Mt. Ulap

You might have already heard of the more famous hiking spots in the country like Mt. Daraitan or Mt. Pinatubo, but if you’re looking for a relatively underrated destination, then Mt. Ulap deserves a look. Just a 40-minute jeepney ride from Burnham Park, you can embark on a day hike at Ulap eco-trail in Itogon, Benguet to enjoy the best of what the Cordilleras have to offer—trails of pine forest, grassland ridges with overlooking views of the mountains, and the occasional sea of clouds.

16. Mt. Pulag, Ambangeg Trail

Probably the most popular among seasoned hikers, Mt. Pulag is Luzon’s highest peak. At 2,926 MASL it’s considered to be one of the most beautiful and best hikes in the Philippines. The hike to the top is moderately difficult and takes about five hours each way, but newbies can choose the easiest trail—what they usually call “a walk in the park” or Ambangeg Trail—to have a spectacular Mt. Pulag experience. But before taking on this climb, it’s important to note that the region often suffers from unforeseen cold spells and temperature drops, so just make sure to prepare accordingly.
