It was sold to a local travel agency, but it was 50% more expensive than the local travel agency, and no lunch was included. Other group members included lunch, which was more than 50% more expensive. The tour guide's service was average, and Zhong wanted to ask me to go to the meeting point by myself. It is clearly written that the two must be covered. It is recommended that you just contact the travel agency that places the hotel booking directly. It is the same and the rate is 50-100%. Next time I travel to the mainland, I won’t help you again. Just go directly to the hotel and check with the travel agency to see if there is any Tuanyan.
A 4-hour drive north from Xi'an finally brings you to the true face of the Chinese nation's mother river! If you haven't been to the Yellow River, you are not a brave man. Now you can finally see the face of the giant dragon!
the information on the listing is not clear or complete. pickup time will depend on your location; 630 is around the time the bus will depart from the meeting point near a theme park outside the ring roads. We were only informed of our 510 pickup time the day before the trip, which is not a good practice. even the return time and drop off points could have been better communicated to the travellers before hand and not 30mins before arriving to the city. after about 4 hrs, sightseeing of the hukou falls, under 1hr. Not fond of the time used travelling to the magnitude of the sight ratio. bus is the typical 4 seats across. yellow emperor mausoleum isn't really worth going to. they just package them together coz both of them are very pretty out of the way and hukou is the bigger more meaningful attraction. arrived at the city stop anyuanmen at 940 and it made other stops in 2 more places.
the chinese operator contacted us via email one day before then connect with Their Chinese tour guide via wechat. they arranged van to pick up us from hotel early morning 5.30am to big bus (55 pax) meet up point. tour guide Evelyn is friendly and helpful. We were return to xi'an about 9.30pm and bus dropped us at metro train station. The waterfall is nice, worth for the 8 hours bus ride to see it. food were average mostly spicy food which dinner is much better than lunch.
Tour was alright. Sharing the itinerary timeline so others can use as reference as the other reviews didn't mention. Toured on 28 April 2024, tour guide was 小尚. She contacted me around 7pm the day prior and we were told to meet at 6.20am. She gave clear instructions on the meeting point, bus details and also things to note. Bus arrived promptly at 6.20am. 8.45am - arrived at the first rest stop. 11am - arrived at Hukou centre; where we watched an introduction video of the Yellow River. (Fyi, introduction video is not inclusive in the package, you have to pay 50rmb/pax and another 40rmb/pax for Hukou 2-way shuttle bus) then we visited Hukou waterfall, which was not as magnificent as what I imagined. We were given 40mins to tour the area, but it was sufficient. 1pm- gathered at Hukou gantry to head off to resturant for lunch. 1.15-2pm : Lunch. Had to top up 30rmb/pax as lunch is not included. 4pm: Arrived at Huang Mausoleum and went for a tour around the place - both indoor and outdoor. Learnt interesting fact thru the indoor Mausoleum tour. Ended the Mausoleum around 6.30pm. (Fyi, there is a sales pitch at the end of the tour) 9.30pm : Arrived back in town Do I recommend the tour? Join only if you have extra day to spare in Xi'an or you have very strong interest in history. Otherwise I would think that your day could be better spent. Waterfall was not majestic, tour information could be found online. No fault with the agency, everything went well, guide was great as well. Just my personal opinion. Hope this help with your decision! (:
The tour guide, Ms. Shang Lu, is very nice and polite. She explained clearly along the way. I am very satisfied with her service. We have a very comfortable bus.
With an experienced guide who explained all the historial parts of the place of interest, we had a better understanding of the place we visited and why it holds a valuable part of China history. Very detailed explanation from the guide who spoke in Mandarin. Land transport arranged was relatively comfortable for a almost 3 hours ride each way, but it was made enjoyable with the story telling from the guide about all things Xi'an. Highly recommended for those who are interested in these 2 places.
The ride takes six hours round trip. . But well worth it. . Worship ancestors with Ma Ying-jeou on Qingming Festival
A good experience from morning to night. The scenery is pleasant. The tour guide explains the relevant historical background and learns a lot of new knowledge.
A pleasure tour in which several different places to visit with a helpful and attentive tour guide. I think the itinerary stated 16:30 back to Xian instead we got back to Xian at 21:30.
