This glacier hike was a fantastic experience! We chose a time when, as it turned out, only four of us were in the group, so we had even more interaction with the guide. Our guide was Andrea from Canada (her Chinese name is 烈婭). She was very friendly and professional, and through our conversations, you could really feel her passion for hiking. During the process, besides learning how to walk on snow with crampons, we also went to two small ice caves to take photos and drank water flowing from the glacier. She also took the initiative to capture some beautiful photos for us. It was a truly fulfilling experience!
We were incredibly lucky to have perfect weather — it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Both my child and I were thrilled and had a great time. Our guide Jasper that day was exceptionally attentive and considerate, and we all really liked him. We highly recommend everyone to try the glacier hiking tour.
Andrea guide is so nicee and guide us well to different photos points, and clear explanations on safety measures. Definitely a must visit location if u come to Mount cook! the view is so stunning!
great experience! it was very sunny and wasnt cold. heli ride was smooth :) guide was nice! we booked for ytd but it was too cloudly, so they rescheduled us for the next day
It’s a fantastic experience! We are so lucky to have done this on our first attempt, and on a sunny day with no strong winds. The glacier walk is stunning, providing insight into how glaciers form and how climate impacts them. The helicopter ride was exceptional, and the guide was very professional.
A truly perfect experience 🌤️ We were lucky to have excellent weather in the morning. Upon arrival, staff registered us, gave us wristbands, and weighed us to determine helicopter seating. There was a detailed safety briefing, and complimentary rental equipment included jackets, socks, backpacks, and shoes. If you wish to use your own backpack, it must be a two-strap backpack. Upon arrival, a guide led us throughout the tour, clearing the path for us 🤩 The most heartwarming part was that they went above and beyond to return my power bank that I had left behind 🥹 I am incredibly grateful.
Worth it! The staff is very nice 👍🏻. The view is very beautiful, a view you can't see from the ground. Pay attention to sun protection ❤️.
The entire experience was absolutely fantastic! I highly recommend trying it at least once! The glacier guide even helped us take photos and was extremely focused on safety. They clearly explained all potential safety concerns, helping us understand the dangers of the glacier and minimize the risk of accidents.
The glacier is super impressive, and the glacier guide is very professional. They provide shoes, crampons, and trekking poles on site, so you don't need to bring your own equipment, which is very convenient.
