What to expect
This Eagle Festival expedition is one that encapsulates the element of fun, relaxation and education, all in one action-packed 11 days itinerary. Explore the wonders of the multifaceted Mongolia, where every aspect of it screams serenity. Are you ready to step out of Singapore’s concrete jungle and into the unknown territory of Western Mongolia?
Be warned, those who enter the unmarked territory of Mongolia always come back with a newfound sense of thrill and adventure. In a land where eagles are the hunters and not the hunted, the land of the blue sky awaits…
Expedition dates (2024):
- 28 September to 8 October 2024
- 3 October to 13 October 2024

Day 1: From Metropolis Breeze to Mountain Breeze | Like most expeditions, the first day is a rather free and easy one. As the sun sets, dig into Mongolia’s scrumptious local cuisine with delicacies such as Tsuivan — stir-fried noodles, as well as Khorkhog

Day 2: Gentle Giants | Ride on the backs of the gentle beauties — Bactrian Camels while you navigate through the Mongol Sand Dunes. Head to Karakorum Ancient Capital and learn about its rich history. As night falls, fall asleep under the starry night sky

Day 3: Experience a 1 hour horseback at the Terhiin Tsagaan Nuur White Lake filled with crystal clear waters

Hike the famous dormant Khorgo Uul Volcano, and be greeted by the majestic Mongolian skyline. If you’re in luck, you will be able to enjoy this view during sunset. After sundown, head back to a traditional Mongolian Ger, where a feast awaits!

Day 4: Sweet Views, Salty Waters | Head to a saltwater lake! Otherwise known as Telmen Lake, a famous point for migratory birds. Here, pick a nice, comfortable spot, for that will be where you are going to spend the night — in a tent!

Day 5: Rolling in the Deep… Deep… Sand Dunes?! | Next up head to Ulaagchiin Haar Nuur National Park where you will see two beautiful lakes surrounded by sand dunes and mountains, making it look like one, gigantic beach. You can even swim there!

Day 6: Bringing Out the Inner Geographer in You | The day commences with a drive to Senjit Khad rock formations, where you will get to see the very peculiar shapes of rocks that inhabited Gobi for years

Day 7: Welcome to the Land of the Eagle Hunters! | After many days of camping in the wilderness, it’s time to get back in touch with modernity. For dinner, indulge in authentic Turkish cuisine and spend the night in a beautiful traditional Kazakh Ger

Day 8: Golden Eagle Festival Day 1 | Finally! Witness the eagles in action, competing to catch small animals such as foxes and hares. Watch the chemistry between the eagles and their trainers unfold as each hunting skill is executed flawlessly

Day 9: Golden Eagle Festival Day 2 | Snap some pictures with the Eagle Hunters! As the festival comes to an end, spend the rest of the day roaming the streets of Bayan Olgii. Shop for mementos or patronize cafés serving the best Mongolia snacks

Day 10: I’m Not Crying, You Are | From Bayan-Olgii, take a domestic flight back to Ulaanbaatar, checking into a hotel upon arrival. Enjoy a celebratory dinner, a final feast with your new-found friends!

Day 11: Home (not so) Sweet Home | Baryatai! (Goodbye!) The day has come. It’s time to go home. Fly back to Singapore richer with colourful experiences and new stories to tell. It’s not the end - it’s only the beginning!
