Due to time constraints, I couldn't visit both Chichibu and Kawagoe, so I ended up going to Chichibu and Seibu-Kyujo-mae. Following everyone's advice, I added the limited express ticket for Chichibu, and it was definitely worth it! The train was super cute and comfortable, making the ride very enjoyable! Chichibu wasn't particularly lively since it wasn't during a festival, and many shops on the shopping street were closed (I heard they open in the evening? We went during the day), but it still had a charming atmosphere. I visited Hitsujiyama Park, but since it wasn't flower season yet, I just walked around. If you have time, you can enjoy the hot springs in front of the station (I didn't go this time). As it wasn't baseball season, I could only take photos outside the Seibu Lions Stadium, but the mini train that goes there was very cute; fans might want to check it out. Overall, it was a very convenient one-day pass! I hope to have the chance to see the Chichibu Night Festival and other places next time.
Purchase a Seibu Railway one-day pass e-ticket. Activate the QR code on the day of use. However, it can only be used at gates with QR codes. If some small stations don't have QR code gates, show the QR code to the station staff. Although I didn't see any station staff in front of Seibu Stadium Station at the time, I saw a notice saying there was a call button nearby to notify them. Playing at the following attractions that day was really great value for the price. Seibu Railway One-Day Pass $1000 0916 Seibu-Shinjuku --> 1025 Motokaji Walk 1.6 km Moomin Valley Park → 1330 Tamako Station Lake Tama Sayama Nature Park → 1500 Hanakoganei Park Station Koganei Park
👉🏻Buy it on Klook and use it after opening the QR Code on the same day (you need to enter and exit the gate at the QR Code, please note) 👍🏼In addition, it is highly recommended to buy the express LAVIEW, which is half an hour faster than the ordinary train. The mustard yellow seat is also spacious and comfortable💛, with large floor-to-ceiling windows, you can enjoy the scenery all the way. 🔖 Recommended itinerary Ikebukuro (take the 8:30 LAVIEW Express) 👉🏻 About 8 minutes from Seibu Chichibu Station (walk to Ohanabata Station) 👉🏻 Nagatoro Station (take photos at Iwabata, Arakawa rafting boat, Hozan Tonjinja Shrine) 👉🏻 Lunch (miso pork cutlet rice) 👉🏻 Afternoon tea (Asami Refrigerated Ice 🍧, Imorara's 🍠Mont Blanc) 👉🏻 Go back to Seibu Chichibu to visit the shopping street and the shrine to buy souvenirs, and finally take a hot spring at the station before returning to Ikebukuro.
Very value for money tickets! The ticket office opened at 8:00 in the morning and immediately changed to the 8:30 train. It is strongly recommended that everyone take the limited express Wide View on the way there. Firstly, you can have a good rest. Secondly, it has huge windows and the train is more unique than JR. In the morning, I went to Nagatoro to see the red (yellow) leaves. At noon, I went to the Hashidate Stalactite Cave. I highly recommend the Jurin Geo nearby. The cave has an adventurous feel and the coffee is very fragrant. In the evening, I went to moomin, which is open only at night in winter. valley; if you buy a two-day ticket, I also recommend you to go to the outlet in Iruma City and Xiaojiango Kawagoe!
The rail pass is good value for money. We travelled across multiple Seibu lines to go to a sake brewery for a guided tour, and also to visit Seibuen Amusement Park. The park has small rides, no big rollercoasters. It was a nice relaxing time and we had good fun at the little game stalls too. They also have a recreation of a Showa-Era shopping street with cute little stores and actors playing mini performances which was good fun.
We went to Kawagoe and spent some good hours there although the day already seemed gloomy. We tried our luck to go to the chichibu. It started raining and when we arrived there the staff werent helpful at all. Overall it was a great experience.
Just have to exchange it in the Ikebukuro Station and able to get the ticket pass to start using. The staff is very friendly and able to speak English, helpful in helping to exchange.
collect easily from the customer service near be entrance, with passport. can take all local Seibu Trains. extra careful as “limited express with seats” - must pay extra.
I exchanged my ticket at the east exit of Seibu Ikebukuro Station. You can buy limited express tickets opposite the exchange, and next to the entrance. I read other people’s guides and said that taking the limited express to Chichibu City is faster, so I paid 900 yen per person for a ticket, which took about an hour and a half. Arrive at Seibu Chichibu Station. After exiting the station, go out to the No. 5 bus stop on the left and wait for the express bus. It takes 80 minutes to get to Mitsumine Shrine. I originally wanted to go to Sanjutsutsuki Icicles in the afternoon, but it ended. It was a bit regretful. After shopping, I went to Chichibu Shrine for a walk. We circled around, then soaked in the hot spring at Matsuri-no-yu next to the station, and then returned to Ikebukuro. Overall, it went very smoothly.
Please check if can be redeemed at Seibu-Shibjuku Station as well. If you got no itinerary, you could ask/get their magazine and flip thru pages on suggested routes.
