What to expect
Cradle Mountain is a stunning World Heritage listed area. We travel in small groups of a maximum of 10 passengers, allowing us to support every guest in achieving the hiking opportunities on offer. Our first priority is ensuring ample time for everyone to complete their main walk of the day: choose between the iconic Dove Lake Circuit, a moderate 6km track, or the harder climb to Marion's Lookout, a 4km track with some steep sections. Cradle is home to abundant native wildlife, giving you a great opportunity to spot it along the way. Time and conditions permitting, we also hope to include a short introductory walk and a visit to Weindorfers Chalet. We finish with stops at Van Diemen's Land Ice Creamery and Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm before returning to Launceston.

Reviews
The tour guide - Damian it’s responsible and very caring in the entire trip. It’s well organized and reasonable. We enjoy the walk so much and Damian show us around the town and the story of Cradle Mountain.
"I'm very happy to be part of this group. Our driver is very professional, and when I climbed up to Marion's Lookout and saw him, I felt joy, guidance, and encouragement; it was truly professional."
My friends and I chose to do a full loop around the lake on the day of our tour. The trail was mostly flat, and the scenery along the way was beautiful, featuring both lake views and surrounding forests. Unfortunately, the weather was a bit overcast when we were walking, and we had to rush through the latter half of the walk to make our集合 time, so we couldn't fully enjoy the views. After the walk, we had lunch at a cabin near Ronny Creek. If you have time, you can also take a short, ten-minute walk to try your luck at spotting wombats.
We got a wonderful day at cradle mountains,Damian is a funny and friendly tour guide. Thanks for today!!
The time is accurate, the tour guide is friendly and the arrangements are well organized. It would be better if the meeting time could be more flexible. Since hiking times vary from person to person, it is difficult to arrive at the meeting point at the same time.
The itinerary is well organized and the tour guide is very friendly. You will pass through a mural town during the ride, which is very easy to take pictures of. Cradle Mountain is beautiful and looks a little different from every angle. We saw kangaroos on the way. Went to eat ice cream afterwards, it was delicious. Like Like
Klook's own customer service is very unprofessional. I had already boarded the vehicle and departed, and they still hadn't replied to my email regarding the pickup. In the end, I had to call the supplier myself to communicate. This travel company's vehicle was in poor condition, a bit old, and the driver/guide drove very aggressively, making the ride uncomfortable. However, the guide was very responsible in providing explanations. The attraction itself is great and worth visiting.
A must-see tour in Tasmania! My guide, Mr. Graem from Tour Tasmania, was fantastic—he shared lots of interesting information about Cradle Mountain and really looked after all the participants. His instructions at each stop were clear and helpful. Cradle Mountain and the national park are unbelievably picturesque and absolutely worth the visit.
Went to the mountains on a rainy day! Nevertheless we were still able to do the Dove Lake Circuit walk. Hiking in the mountains under the pouring rain was lowkey healing. Thanks to Graeme for guiding us throughout the tour and for the free rain jackets!! The best! 🙌🏻
The tour was fantastic and is the perfect choice for a day trip out of town. The scenery at Cradle Mountain is absolutely stunning and well worth the journey. Our tour guide, Jess, was lovely, she was punctual, knowledgeable, and shared plenty of interesting information throughout the trip. We especially enjoyed chatting with her about wombats, Tasmania's unique plants, and local life. As a day tour, we chose one of the easy-to-moderate hiking routes, and it was definitely worth it. The pace was comfortable, the views were spectacular, and the whole experience was very enjoyable. Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Launceston and wanting to experience the beauty of Cradle Mountain in a day ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Good to know
- The weather at Cradle Mountain is very changeable year-round – the trails sit at 1000m above sea level, so it's naturally colder here and conditions can change rapidly. It's not uncommon to experience snow and icy winds in January, followed the very next week by warm, sunny days.
- We recommend dressing and packing in layers, with beanies, gloves and spare warm socks always a good idea.
- Our tour day remains flexible to suit conditions and the group on the day – your guide will help tailor hiking options based on weather, ability and safety.
- The Dove Lake circuit is a moderate walk of 6 kms with some ups and downs along the way. Marions Lookout is a more challenging option taking you to an elevation of 1200m.
- Food, drinks and snacks are not included on this day tour We stop en route at a regional bakery where you can purchase lunch and snacks (sandwiches, rolls, wraps and more) to take with you; if you have dietary requirements or prefer other options, feel free to bring your own. Lunch is enjoyed picnic-style in Cradle Mountain National Park
- Minimum age to travel is 8 years
