Mr. Cai is very friendly. Although we were Korean, he asked an English-speaking traveler to interpret important details for us, allowing us to complete our Ha Giang trip without any problems. He also sent the items we'd purchased at a shopping mall on the way back to Hanoi back home even though we'd left them on the bus. The mountains of Ha Giang offer a different kind of peace and warmth than Sapa. Despite the small size of the bus, our trip to Ha Giang was a wonderful experience.
This is a good alternative to hagiang loop if you don't wish to go on a bike tour. Do note that everything is in vietnamese so you might not be able to understand thoroughly what the guide is sharing. I used Google translate to communicate with the guide and was blessed to have some tour mates that could speak English. Despite the language barriers i was very much taken care of by the people on this tour and even invited to drinks and cafe in the evening with them. Being the only foreigner in the group, im completely immerse in their culture and learnt so much about the locals. Do expect to spent alot of time on the bus with about 8 hours ride from hanoi to 0km, the start of the hagiang loop and many pitstops are for phototaking. The food are all great and suit chinese tastebuds. The hotels are basic and clean but dont have high expectations as the area is pretty much still underdeveloped and that's the beauty of it. It's less touristy then sapa in my opinion. Overall, recommend if you love to explore the countryside!
I left my heart in Ha Giang, Vietnam. I planned this trip late last year after seeing a video of the Nho Que River. I was amazed by its beauty. Then I did a little research about the place and was able to find a joiner’s tour package via Klook. It was a 3-day and 2-night trip. The places that we visited were all rich in culture and history. The food was pretty good as well if you’re not a picky eater. I paid extra for a solo room and the rooms were all clean and comfy. The road going there is quite challenging, but it was a smooth ride (thanks to our professional driver). This area of Vietnam doesn’t have many foreign tourists. Most of the tourists are locals from different places. During the trip, I was joined by a Thai and Vietnamese family, as well as some other locals from Ho Chi Minh. So, I was really able to immerse myself in their wonderful culture. Also, our tour guide was very helpful, and he takes good pictures. I wasn’t even able to use my tripod because he would always offer to take pictures of me. They were all nice and friendly. It was truly one of my most unforgettable solo trips. I booked my flight from Chiang Mai to Hanoi via Trip.com. check out my IG: supenzooo to see more of this trip.
The trip is great. The tour guide is friendly and helpful. He is organized the tour step by step so we can get to see everything accordingly to the tour schedule.
Very interesting travel experience, enthusiastic tour guide and driver who drives very smoothly on difficult roads. Because the sightseeing locations are far away, there is not much time to explore each location
The Ha Giang trip from Hanoi takes a lot of time by car, but after arriving in Ha Giang province, the scenery along the road is full of green mountains. During the group tour, other group members actually said that they were tired and did not go to the tour guide to inform me that I wanted to cancel. I was very disappointed. After returning to Dong Van Town, I asked the tour guide to discuss with him. He arranged for the local Moduo to accompany me to go, although I made up some more money but The feeling of riding a motorcycle is very different from riding a car, and there is no angle limit for shooting, which allows the rider to stop and take pictures of you, but the station wagon only stops in the scenic area, especially after reaching the Nho Que River, I really forget the unhappiness at that time. (I am unhappy because the tour guide canceled the Nho Que River that they were going to in order to cooperate with most of the group members who said they were tired.) I personally feel that this process is quite satisfactory, but the toilets along the road may be a bit worrying
I was the only foreigner in the group, but the guide also explained in English, and some of people in the trip also helped in translating some Vietnamese and started some conversation with me. It was well organized trip. The driver was also skilfull. They were all friendly. The view in the stop points and along the way in Ha Giang were all amazing. However, if you have problem with car (motion) sickness, please prepare medicine or sit in the front of the car, as the road is winding.
Breathe taking landscape! Experienced bus driver (especially in the mountain road), had a great time with my tour mate, good arrangement from the tour side, insightful info from our tour guide. Recommend to take this tour!
I went alone but I had so much fun. The hdv is very enthusiastic, the driver is safe and everyone in the group is very nice!
