Breakfast and Evening Street Food Walking Tour in Yogyakarta

I loved the local experience of buying street snacks and breakfast with a guide. It felt authentic. There was so much food! I would have felt a little confused if I were to do it by myself. I am glad that I got to try so much food, including the Netflix-featured Lupis in Jogja.

I did a breakfast tour with Gaudiya and had such a great time. Gaudiya showed me several Indonesian snacks that I would have not had tried myself. It was very enjoyable walking through the market and getting to know the local culture through Gaudiya's experiences. Overall, a great morning spent.

Traditional markets are always the best. Gaudiya, the guide, was very friendly and spoke English fluently. She added her own spices in the introduction, telling things about the foods we saw and ate with her family stories. I truly enjoyed the tour and highly recommend it.

Rama is a great and cheerful tour guide. He showed me the inner ropes of Yogyakarta's market and introduced me to really interesting local foods and dishes that we ate at the monument sitting down by the roadside. The foods are amazing! It's one of the fun things you can do when visiting the city.

We received a very friendly college student who also took us to the market and introduced delicious snacks. His English is very good and communication is no problem. The only problem is that when I bought it, the introduction was 7-10 hours, but it was only 7-8.5 hours

We enjoyed 6 types of food and a drink, which are largely familiar East Asian flavors. Visitors from other regions might enjoy it more. Please be aware the real schedule is 7:00-8:20 instead of the description, and the last 20 minutes are for a local temple tour. If you’re looking for cost-effective choices, exploring the market alone with reference to photos in this review might be a good alternative.

I had a breakfast tour with Gaudyia in Oct-2025. I loved the tour! Gaudyia was very kind, always taking time to explain me everything I asked. She made sure I'd try several traditional foods and snacks. She is great to have a conversation with and discover so much more about Indonesia's culture and Yogjakarta's rich food traditions. I highly recommend getting her. She really made my tour special!

Our guide Paspa is very friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about Indonesian food. She introduced us delicious Indonesian breakfast snacks to try. All are very delicious and we have great time.

Mr. Harits was a wonderful guide to Yogyakarta's wealth of street food culture. I would definitely use his and his tour company's services again the next time I'm in town. 10/10 would recommend.

Puspa and her cousin were able to communicate well. We were introduced to local and tradional food. They pointed out monuments and shared how food differs in Jakarta,Bali and Jogja. A good tour to take if this is the first time you get to walk down Jogja's street and markets.
