Reviews
It was a fantastic tour! The bus was on time and comfortable. We really enjoyed and were amazed by the wonderful beatuties of the crater, the greysir, the mighty waterfall, and the national park. Highly recommended!
I was so glad to catch good weather at the last minute and participate in this rich and diverse Golden Circle and Geysir activity through Klook! Iceland's weather is famously unpredictable, and I only decided to join after arriving and seeing a good forecast. Klook offers great flexibility for booking activities! I was also very lucky to join this tour with Bustravel Iceland. Many thanks to Darren, our guide, and the driver for their dedicated efforts in accompanying our entire group. The itinerary was very comprehensive! Although we were a group of people from over a dozen different countries, everyone was very friendly and punctual! As someone taking a local tour and traveling alone to Iceland for the first time, this experience was very meaningful to me!
The Golden Circle tour is definitely something you shouldn’t skip especially if you’re traveling solo like me. The pickup was right on time, so it helps to be outside Storm Hotel on the opposite side at least 10 min before the scheduled time. Everything ran smoothly from the start. Our guide, Anna made the whole day even better. She knows so much about Iceland’s history, nature, and culture, and she shares it in a way that’s easy to follow and fun to listen to. She also has a great sense of humor, which kept everyone engaged during the long drives. 🥰 The stops were beautiful, the pacing was good, and the overall experience felt well organised. I’d happily recommend this tour to anyone visiting Iceland! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
They diligently send pickup time updates via WhatsApp and email, and when boarding the bus, each participant's name is called individually, so you can rest assured there won't be any boarding mistakes. It's a tour that takes you around the highlights of Iceland, and the time allocation for each spot was just right. The length of stay wasn't too long or too short, it was perfect. The guide doesn't lead the tour group around each attraction and explain things; instead, once we arrive at a destination, everyone gets off the bus and has free time, so even those who aren't comfortable with English won't have any problems. We had lunch at the Geysir Geothermal Area, and there were various options, such as a meat plate or a sandwich from the cafe. The meat here is exquisite, so even though it's expensive, I highly recommend trying it. After enjoying a leisurely lunch, we went to see the geyser, and we were able to see it erupt about three times. It wasn't raining, but the ground around the geyser is wet, so waterproof shoes are a good idea. At Gullfoss waterfall, the wind from the falls made it feel very cold. It may not have been on the tour itinerary, but we also had about 15 minutes to interact with Icelandic horses, and you can also experience feeding them for about €3.
The tour operator will ask you to gather at bus stop no 12, just opposite to Storm hotel, when bus comes, the guide will call the name out one by one based upon first book first serve, well arranged and perfect time management. Our guide Edelweiss did a great job, talked much about everything related to the Iceland and the scenery, including history, background and funny story, and allowing enough time for visiting each spot. He also introduced nice restaurant , things to do after the tour if still staying downtown.
The tour was sooo worth it! i didn’t expect it to be that good, but it was incredible. you do more stops than is written on the itinerary which is awesome. The freedom to roam at each spot is great. Highly recommend!
Golden circle and Kerid crater day tour pick up was a bit confusing, but the guides have a list so we just have to follow their instructions to change from a small van to a larger bus outside Kringlan shopping centre petrol station. We first went for a quick toilet and breakfast stop at Hveragerði located 45km east of Reykjavik, where it rests in a large geothermal area with boiling water running just beneath the surface of the earth. Along the way, the guide Jessica showed us some Icelandic horses whom only feeds on hay and Elf's churches where things are usually built around it. Next we went to the beautiful Kerid crater, where we were welcomed by some snow. After that, we were greeted by the magnificent Gullfoss waterfall, unpredictably Geysir eruption and a nice walk around Thingvellir National park. Time allocated was ok with clear instructions from Jessica on when to be back on the bus and gave us information about Iceland as we passed through the different terrains. Smooth and safe ride for the whole trip as well!
The Golden Circle is the route that most visitors to Iceland would go for, visiting the marvellous Kerid Crater (lake was frozen thick when we went end in November so we could walk on it), Gullfoss Falls, Geysers and Thingveller National Park (where the Eurasian & North American Tectonic Plates meet). Iceland is absolutely breathtaking, especially on a day with good weather. Do prepare enough for strong chilly winds, especially at Gullfoss Falls.
I wasn't expecting much, but the guide explained everything from basic knowledge about Iceland to tourist attractions in detail, and all of the places we visited - Geysir, the crater, Gull Falls, and the national park - were all worth a visit and were fun! However, it was disappointing that I couldn't understand all the English. I definitely recommend this tour if you go to Iceland!! Even if you don’t take a tour, you must visit these places! I think it's a well-planned tour.
very worth it to join this tour if you are not driving! our guide Alan was very friendly and knowledgeable. it was slightly rushed at certain sights but appreciated that they stopped at a grocery store/bakery as the first stop for us to buy snacks so you don’t have to spend on the more expensive food at the tourist centre. our guide even added a little bonus stop for us to see the icelandic horses!
