What to expect
Follow in the footsteps of Vincent Van Gogh and explore Provencal villages through the eyes of the legendary artist on this half-day tour! On this tour, you'll also understand why colors and quality of light have long been an inspiration for artists and painters, including Van Gogh. Start in Arles, where you'll walk through the locations that inspired some of the artist's most famous paintings — 'La Café le Soir', 'La Maison Jaune', 'La Nuit Etoilée', and 'Le Jardin des Hospices'. Then head over to the medieval village of Les Baux de Provence, where you'll admire the village from the Val d'Enfer and watch the audiovisual show of 'Les Carrières de Lumières'. Visit the last stop of this tour, Saint-Rémy de Provence, where the troubled artist was hospitalized for over a year. If you want to live the story of Van Gogh while seeing historical Provencal landmarks with your own eyes, then this tour is for you!

Reviews
I participated with my elderly mother. We were supposed to be in a group, but there were only two of us, and we are not good at English. They were considerate of us, so we felt close to them. I am really glad that I applied, because I was worried about the weak yen. This was the only tour that my stingy mother was happy with. I hope the guide will continue to do his best.
Unfortunately the description of the tour was inaccurate because it said it included a visit to the Carrières de Lumières, which I found out from the guide was not accurate. Since it was the only reason I had booked the tour the guide eventually made a plan to specially drop me off to see the illuminations but I could not stay for the full experience. I thought the itinerary without the illuminations is very bad value for money since only Arles is guided while the visit to van Gogh's asylum is left to one's own devices and St Remy town is really only a lunch stop. I recommend adding the illuminations back into the itinerary and ensuring the guide gives a tour of the asylum too.
The itinerary listed both 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM as meetup times. I arrived before 8:30 but missed a call and was left behind, even though they had only just left. Given the conflicting times, I’m disappointed they didn’t turn back. The situation was frustrating and poorly handled.
The tour was overall okay. The guide is helpful and he took good care of the group. However, time was a bit short for the carrières de lumieres show because we were unable to finished one cycle of the amazing Van Gogh video projection. Other than that it’s all good. The market was an eye opening experience
