1. If you go at night, the background (the observatory wall behind the person taking the photo) will reflect a lot in the glass. It's best to find a position and angle where there's minimal reflection. 2. It's definitely prettier at night. Because of this, you might even have to wait in line at spots with the Tokyo Tower in the background. Be aware that some people might inconsiderately take photos for a long time in the same spot. 3. The entrance and exit are different, and you have to walk all the way around. The closer you get to the exit, the less you can see Tokyo Tower, but it's quieter and there are places to lean and take photos, so the atmosphere is better. (However, if you like night views, the scenery around Tokyo Tower is still better.) 4. How to enter: Find the Mori Tower Gallery and take the elevator to the 3rd floor -> Buy tickets at the 3rd-floor ticket office or present your pre-purchased ticket QR code -> Follow the instructions and take the elevator to the 52nd floor in order (scan your QR code to enter).
The observation deck on the 52nd floor offered a truly beautiful view. Since we arrived at 7 PM, we were able to witness the transition from the evening glow to the nightscape. There was an exhibition for the manga "Chi." which had such a long line that it was hard to move, but now it's a fond memory. Merchandise related to "Chi." was also being sold. I bought candy containing algae that had traveled to space. Honestly, I couldn't really taste the algae, but it was a NASA product, and perhaps because of the "Chi." connection, NASA food items (like freeze-dried ice cream and other dried foods) were also for sale, which was interesting to see. The exhibition style for "Chi." was very unique, especially the experience of entering a dark room, which might be enjoyable even for those not very familiar with the manga. I would like to go again to relax my mind.
having visited both the art museum as well as the observatory deck, I personally highly recommend both places, especially the observatory deck. from the photos I provided, I was able to capture photos of the Tokyo tower clear and concise. I was also able to see the tower clearly, from the observatory. I managed to see the landmark of Yokohama, which was cool. the observatory has great views and it’s completely free, something I appreciate. had a blast while visiting, definitely will come back again
amazing views, beautiful building, pretty day and especially night and very easy voucher to use/redeem. we had no luck seeing Fuji-San but still enjoyed our time there with the gorgeous Tokyo tower and city views and the Monowit exhibit and the super creative Nano-Nano exhibit at the exit. highly recommend
easy access just go to the third floor, show the voucher st information and you are good to go. not that crowded, and you can see clearly the Tokyo Tower. good to view the tokyo while listening to the sound at mori exhibit. makes you feel like japan is a really good place and it is really hard to say goodbye. and definitiely will back.
Great experience. it was our first visit to Roppongi hills obsevatory. Beautiful views, very supportive staff, quite easy to reach to the venue, staff was available at all designated areas to guide us. Booking from klook was the most easy and economical option available. we booked the visit a day prior, we wanted the evening slot only and got one. suggestion is to book in advance. Price in compared to other options was way too reasonable. We will definitely be booking more excursion thru Klook and will visit Japan again soon.
The Roppongi Hills Observation Deck, known as Tokyo City View, is located on the 52nd floor of the Mori Tower in Tokyo’s Roppongi district. It offers a 360-degree panoramic view of the city skyline, including landmarks such as Tokyo Tower and, on clear days, Mount Fuji. Visitors can choose between the indoor observation deck and the open-air Sky Deck, which requires an additional fee but provides an unobstructed view ideal for photography. The observation deck is open daily from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM, with the last admission at 10:30 PM. Admission fees are ¥1,800 for adults and ¥1,200 for children aged 4-15. The Sky Deck access costs an additional ¥500. The facility also houses the Mori Art Museum, allowing visitors to combine art appreciation with breathtaking city views. Its central location in Roppongi makes it easily accessible via public transportation. Overall, the Roppongi Hills Observation Deck provides a memorable experience for those seeking to observe Tokyo from a unique vantage point.
Amazing Views of Tokyo! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Tokyo City View Observation Deck at Roppongi Hills is absolutely worth it! The indoor observation deck offers a panoramic view of Tokyo, and if the weather is good, you can even see Tokyo Tower, Skytree, and sometimes Mount Fuji. If you visit in the evening, the city lights are magical—it’s a perfect spot for photos. I was lucky with the Fuji-san. The staff were friendly, and everything was well-organized. It wasn’t too crowded when I went, which made it even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Tokyo!
