Reviews
Laura has been fantastic as our guide. she’s caring, detailed and also animated at times bringing us joy during the four hours session. it’s an enjoyable as well as educational tour, we have learnt a lot on the darker side of Korean history and was inspired by the young, courageous patriots that fought hard with their lives to bring independence to Korea
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this tour. Our guide Gina, was exceptional. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and very informative throughout the experience. I joined the tour alone, but I still had a great time and did not feel out of place. Learning about Korea's colonial era history was eye opening. Gina brought each site to life with her story telling and explanation. I would recommend this tour to everyone interested in learning more about Korea's modern history.
itinerary: Ever explored Korea’s darkest secrets? From hidden torture chambers to freedom fighters’ stories — this Dark Tour showed us the raw, real side of Seoul 🇰🇷. We even grabbed lunch with ancient coins at Tongin Market!
Had a great morning learning the dark history of Korea with Gina. She was very knowledgeable and able to answer all questions. Highly recommend this new tour to people interested in a different side to Koreas history. Unfortunately other people were very late to join and were less than enthusiastic during the tour making her job harder than it needed to be. Gina handled these inconsiderate guests with grace and was an excellent host under what were uncomfortable circumstances for her.
definitely was a memorable experience, the tour had me learning Korean history on another level which helped me understand how Korea got to where it is now. Such a wonderful tour, also wanna thank to our guide Jonathan!
If you are looking for something else than your typical Seoul tour - this one is for you! A deep dive into Korean independence history, that would give you information that you would normally not hear. I had a really good time, our guide, Sunny has a big knowledge and it is happy to reply to your questions. Prepare for walking a bit up to the hill but it is so worth it. Very happy that I was able to join the tour and i recommend!
This tour dives deep into the kind of history they don’t teach you in school. The stories were intense, but our guide kept it engaging and real. I left feeling heartbroken and inspired at the same time.
Our guide Jonathan was absolutely amazing!!! so knowledgeable and passionate. You could really feel how much they cared about the history and wanted us to understand the deeper meaning behind each location. It felt like walking through a living history book.
This tour gave me a powerful insight into Korea’s painful history under Japanese colonial rule. It was emotional and eye opening definitely not your typical tourist activity, but something every visitor should experience.
Glad that I have joined this tour! It was amazing! If you are interested in Korea history, this is the perfect tour for you! It’s a newer tour, and even though it was just me and my friend that day, they still ran it for us. Our tour guide Laura is very knowledgeable and passionate, introduced and explained a lot about the sad and dark stories of Japanese colonized period. Although the display are written in English but having a docent tour like this make a huge difference. Tour guide gave us so much background and shared stories you wouldn't get just by reading the displays. Highly recommend!👍🏻
