Reviews summaryWent at the end of December. Such a memorable experience! The trip started with boarding the ship at sunrise and disembarking at sunset. The whole time the weather was clear and sunny. The on-board activities were enough to fill the 3-hour boarding time. Besides floating in the sea in lobster suits, you could also take pictures on the deck and visit the captain's cabin and machine room. There were three choices for lunch on board: meatballs with mashed potatoes, salmon rice, and vegan pasta, along with a bowl of soup (salmon soup / tomato vegetable soup) and garlic bread. The food wasn't particularly tasty; the meatballs seemed boiled and tasted normal, and the salmon rice was also just okay. The outdoor area on the ship was very cold, but luckily there was hot GLOGG available to warm the stomach and hands.
I booked the 11 AM tour and waited at the Rovaniemi Tourist Information Center. The tour guide arrived on time, and after boarding the bus, we headed straight to the icebreaker terminal in Sweden. The most exciting part was seeing the ship break through the ice, creating a path as it sailed. After lunch, we were able to disembark and walk on the ice to take photos. Afterward, we put on survival suits and floated in the icy water; it didn't feel cold at all. This activity was a lot of fun, and although it was a bit expensive, it was definitely worth it!
Excellent experience! We went on the first day of its official season on 20 Dec. The ice was not very thick yet but enough to show us the prowess of the icebreaker. It was not thick enough for walking on ice. But when we went for the ice floating, we could climb onto the ice and stand on it, which makes a good photo. During ice floating, make sure you let the photographer take lots of photo for you and your family. They identify you by the QR code tag you wear on your wet suit, so make sure it is visible most of the time. And you pay 45euros for one printed photo and the link to the softcopy photos for that tag. Although it is quite expensive and a 2.5h drive from Rovaniemi, this cruise can accommodate children above 125cm for ice floating. Other cruises might not cater to this height.
A 3-hour bus tour from Rovaniemi will take you to Sweden to board an icebreaker. The tour includes lunch and floating on the icy water in a thermal suit, making for a very unforgettable experience.
A great experience! You can experience an icebreaker breaking ice and put on a lobster suit to swim in the glacier. After the lobster suit experience, there is hot berry juice to drink outside. Overall it's very good, but one of the staff members on the ship has serious racial discrimination... The rest of the staff are very good.
Itinerary arrangement: Well-organized, clear explanation! Along the way, the scenic spots: Very beautiful, the swimming activities on the boat were very fun, everyone had a pleasant day 😎
You can enjoy a floating experience, wearing a special survival suit to stay warm. Staff members are on board the boat and in the water, ensuring safety at all times. There's also a photographer to capture your moments. Plus, you can experience the thrill of ice breaking.
Going to the Arctic means experiencing an Arctic icebreaker, floating on the sea in a lobster 🦞 flotation suit, and walking to the middle of the sea for a stroll. An Arctic Circle trip is a must-try experience.
A truly amazing experience, especially floating in the icy sea dressed as a lobster.
Superb experience! Tour guide was friendly and the the expedition was fun! Once in a lifetime. A bit expensive but totally worth it.
