super worth it!!! bike rental good for 24 hours. i also enjoyed the river cruise! shoutout to mokumboot. it was the most relaxing 1 hour in my amsterdam stay. i had loads of rosé on the boat at fanta to top it off. museums are included in this pass and i enjoyed moco museum!
I got the 120 hour card which was very worth the money. Unlimited transport including one free canal ride (excludes train rides out of Amsterdam), major museum entrance fees are covered, and also covered all my activities at Zaanse Schans day trip!
We bought the 4 day (96 hour) card for our 4 days in Amsterdam and the value was incredible. We love museums and historical sites, and managed to visit around 10 over our 4 days in Amsterdam. It’s great for allowing you to visit smaller, more local museums instead of just the big names (that also draw the biggest crowds), plus using the wonderful and easy public transit. We probably saved over $300 euros or more between the two of us - it’s a must buy if you plan to visit museum and historical sites in Amsterdam. But do the math of everything you would like to visit and make sure it can work for your time and energy levels.
(1)Download the i am city card app and make reservations for the attractions you planned to visit. Not all attractions required reservation. Yes, you could make reservation before buying the card as the app only remind you to present valid city card upon arrival. This allows you to make sure all the attractions you want to visit are successfully booked before buying the card (2) You will receive a voucher number after you place the order. Input this number to add the card to the app at anytime but remember NOT to press the activate button. Once activate, the valid time will be shown. I preferred to spread my visits in two days, so I activated my card at 3pm which valid until 3pm next day. (3)I have no problem in using the QR code to get on and off the GVB tram, bus and metro. The app took some times to open, so get prepared. Make the QR code brighter will help. I was not sure if I need to scan the card again when getting off the bus and tram but I did. (4) I have visited the ARTIS Royal zoo & A’dam Outlook (both not required reservations) and This is Holland, Rijksmuseum, Moco Museum and boat cruise (all required reservation). For This is Holland, we have to wait until our booked time even though we arrived half an hour earlier. For boat cruise, I chose Mokumboot Canal Cruise as the boat was an open top one and in small party. The experience was perfect. (5) Just like others said, each member buy his own card to avoid trouble. Excellent value for money and easy to use. Highly Recommended.
The card is worth it if you plan to visit many places in Amsterdam and Zaans Schans. However some places like the rijksmuseum you will need to book in advance. Also, you can only use it for one cruise ride only.
Because my friend and I bought the city cards separately, I can write multiple reviews, with the positives in the front, but here are the restrictions. 1. Although you can enter multiple museums, each museum can only be used once. 2. Some attractions are free but you still need to make a reservation before entering (such as the National Museum, 5D Flight Experience) 3. Most attractions close at 5-6 pm, and not many can be used at night. 4. Renting a bicycle is free, but the store will ask you if you want to pay to rent a lock (does anyone dare not rent?) 5. You cannot take the train 6. It is recommended that multiple people use it and buy it separately, because the first time I bought it for two people, There are difficulties when sharing cards and opening cards. Later, I bought them separately and opened them smoothly with two sets of serial numbers.
This card works so well that I bought it twice. Let’s briefly talk about several attractions that can be entered for free after the physical test. Rijksmuseum of the Netherlands (online reservation required) Tulip Museum Boathouse Museum Diamond Museum Amsterdam Old and New Church Rembrandt House Kitten Museum Zaandam Museum This is holland 5D flight experience eye movie museum MOCO Museum Shipping Museum Stedelijk Museum Free canal tour boat and Rent a bicycle once. Discounts are available for the Heineken Museum, Wax Museum, and Gin House, but additional fees are required.
I used this city card to at least 5 museums and attractions in Amsterdam, very valuable for tourists, you can experience many interesting attractions here in the beautiful city, even valid for free cruise tours.
