Reviews
I highly recommend this day trip to Yehliu, Jiufen, Shifen, and the Pineapple Cake DIY experience! Our tour guide, Sunny, was incredibly friendly and professional, providing detailed background information about each attraction along the way and offering helpful tips, which made us feel very at ease. The itinerary was well-planned, and the timing at each stop was perfectly managed, so we never felt rushed or bored. The Queen's Head at Yehliu Geopark was truly magnificent, and Sunny even helped everyone find the best photo spots. Jiufen's mountain town atmosphere was captivating, and I recommend Ah Gan Yi Taro Balls. Releasing sky lanterns in Shifen was a lot of fun; it was very moving to write down wishes and watch the lanterns ascend. Finally, the pineapple cake DIY was a unique Taiwanese experience, and we could even take our creations home as souvenirs. The vehicle was clean and comfortable, and the driver drove smoothly. Starting and returning to Taipei Main Station was also very convenient. Overall, it was excellent value for money, and I would love to join other tours led by Sunny in the future! 👍
Sunny and Brother Bear were both wonderful; they took great care of us throughout the trip and were enthusiastic and lively. As a student from mainland China studying in Hong Kong, I found the one-day group tour in Taiwan to be very well-organized. Before we even started, they covered safety precautions, the day's itinerary, important notes, and a detailed breakdown of costs. They also adjusted the schedule promptly based on weather and road conditions. They even arranged a group pre-order for milk tea and other drinks before we arrived at the scorching hot Yehliu. Our first stop was Yehliu, and it was incredibly sunny and hot, but we were so lucky because the sea and sky were an unbelievably vibrant blue – absolutely stunning! The sea and the rock formations are individually top-notch, but together they create a unique beauty. Afterward, we went to Shifen, where Sunny explained how Taiwan addresses the environmental pollution caused by sky lanterns, mentioning a government-backed recycling incentive program, which was fascinating. Jiufen Old Street is essentially a commercial and snack street, but what makes it unique are the genuinely delicious local foods and the beautiful sea, mountain, and Chenghuang Temple views (near Jiufen Elementary School) that you get after climbing the steps to the top. I don't recommend eating right when you enter; the grilled sausage and chocolate cake were quite ordinary. I sampled many things along the way: nougat crackers, pineapple cakes, purple-skinned peanuts, ginger sugar water, and more. The ba-wan (meatball) was pretty good; the pork seasoning was fragrant, the glutinous rice skin was easy to chew, and the bamboo shoots inside were the perfect touch. Later, a Taiwanese auntie from our group gave me a savory radish cake that she particularly loved, and it was incredibly delicious! The ice cream spring roll was decent; my fellow travelers and I gave it a passing grade. Our group had amazing luck with the weather; a torrential downpour started right after we finished our Jiufen itinerary and boarded the bus. Finally, we did a DIY pineapple cake activity and sampled many varieties. The biggest takeaway from this trip was meeting many interesting people; all my fellow travelers were great, and the experience was superb. I recommend everyone in the world visit Taipei!
I joined the tour on Saturday, May 16, 2026. The weather was sunny, and the overall experience was truly wonderful! I'd especially like to give our tour guide, Sunny, a very high rating. From the initial meeting to the end of the itinerary, Sunny demonstrated exceptional professionalism and experience. She was quick and efficient, spoke fluently and clearly, and managed the tour's pace perfectly, ensuring there was no confusion or excessive waiting. Her ability to react quickly to situations was also excellent, as she handled various circumstances with prompt responses and arrangements. During this trip, we visited Yehliu, Pingxi, Jiufen Old Street, and the Souvenir Shop. At each attraction, Sunny provided detailed explanations of the local characteristics and historical background, allowing everyone to do more than just sightsee; we truly gained a deeper understanding of each place's culture and stories. Sunny was also very thoughtful, often arranging things in advance for everyone, which saved a lot of time waiting in lines and made the entire journey smoother and more efficient. Furthermore, Sunny didn't just introduce information related to the tourist spots; during our travel time between locations, she also shared many interesting facts and topics, making the car rides far from boring. The atmosphere remained relaxed and pleasant throughout, and you could feel Sunny's skill in engaging everyone and fostering interaction. I'm also very grateful that Sunny proactively shared insights on which shops might be disappointing and which were truly worth visiting. This was incredibly helpful for out-of-town visitors. It felt like she wasn't just leading a tour but genuinely wanted everyone to have a good time and enjoy safe, delicious food. The entire trip had a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, and the schedule was very well-managed. We had a fantastic time. I am truly thankful for Sunny's dedication and professionalism, which created such wonderful memories on this trip. I hope to have the opportunity to join Sunny's tour again in the future!
Enjoyable and well planned trip, bus provided was spacious and comfortable. Our guide Jeff was friendly and clear with instructions, thankful that he provided good tips and food recommendations, and map of Jiufen was sent to us so that we wouldn't get lost :) The pineapple cake place was a good one-stop shop for us to purchase souvenirs without lugging them at the old streets! Highly recommended! 👍

Spring was our tour guide and he is very nice! He gave a lot of information about all the different stops. He also give us advice on what stores to go, what is nice to buy etc. Overall an enjoyable trip. I also think that this tour is quite value for money as the Yehliu Geopark ticket is included. He is quite nice to help us order drinks before we entered so that we do not waste time queuing. He also help us take order for the sky lantern and organised us so everything was straightforward. Thank you so much Spring!
