Reviews
Have wonderful weather for kayaking especially for newbie. Nice waterfall, will be better if there is little rain. If you want see any pengiun, the season around July-January.
I know this review maybe just my personal opinion. The ship was great and comfortable with cooked buffet-styled breakfast (I think it is only provided in the tour departing at 0900am). The Underwater Observatory was interesting at first glance as I have never seen anything like it before, but staying there for 20 minutes was a bit bored for me because the view of fishes and water outside widows didn’t change much. The main reason for giving 3 stars is that the view in Milford Sound wasn’t as outstanding and breathtaking as I thought it would be. Just my personal opinion, the view was just a combination of a vast ocean and tall mountains, which you can easily see around the coast lines in NZ, but somehow we still managed to see some dolphins and seals, where were a bonus.
I encountered a rainy day the same day, and originally thought that kayak would be canceled. I did not expect that the counter staff said that such rainy activities would be held as usual, unless the fog was cancelled. I successfully received four tickets, including a boat ticket, a picnic bag, an event ticket, an underwater observation museum ticket, and a kayak security promotion consent (remember the signature). When you first board the boat, you need to give the boat ticket. After you get on the boat, you must pick up the picnic ticket and then go to the second floor. The shipping company provides hot drinks, coffee, tea, milk, hot water, and sells biscuits. . In the process, we enjoyed the scenery outside while eating in English, Korean and Chinese tour. There is also a buffet option on the first floor, but when I was looking for information, I would be in a hurry when I saw the time and had to eat and watch the scenery. I felt that it was really convenient to take a picnic bag and take it with me. After the boat arrived at the Straits mouth and returned, we disembarked at the Water Observation Museum Station and experienced kayak first. At this time, the staff will ask you to agree to confirm that you have read the relevant safety knowledge. At this time, you will dress and provide raincoats, life jackets, waterproof bags , It is recommended to take a waterproof camera + lanyard if you want to take pictures, so as not to fall into the water. During the rowing process, the coach will introduce you along the way. It will take more than an hour. It will be a little bit sour but you will still have fun! However, we still encountered the legendary black mosquito, but we first sprayed anti-mosquito liquid. After ending kayak, I returned to the observatory next door and joined the team of the underwater observatory. Some people explained it first, and then I went to the underwater observatory and saw few fish, but it was very educational. The whole trip is about 4 hours. Our favorite part of the whole trip is kayak. Get in touch with Milford sound!
Note that there is no mobile phone signal for the entire trip to Mifferfjord. The map must be preloaded first, and the order must be saved first, otherwise it will be impossible to open the scene! Kayak and underwater observation hall are in In the same place, there are extremely many small black mosquitoes! If you haven't skated in a canoe, you can experience it. If you are a canoe player, you will feel very suffering. You can only row in a small circle, and you have to drag it to 1 hour. Summer It ’s almost dead. Raincoats are provided on rainy days, but I still need to change my clothes and bare feet.
Cruise the spectacular waters of Milford Sound, passing colonies of fur seals, tumbling waterfalls, and soaring cliffs. You’ll explore on a boat whose viewing decks and glassed-in cabins are ideal for sightseeing in any weather, traveling all the way from Mitre Peak to the Tasman Sea. Make your own way to Milford Sound, or opt for round-trip transport from Queenstown by glass-roofed coach, with sightseeing, short hikes, and narration along the way.
Although it was drizzling in the morning, it stopped when we set off! The overcast weather is very comfortable, and kayaking is very interesting. When the boat’s voyage is halfway, tourists who experience kayaking will disembark. It’s not difficult to have a coach to guide you. You can take pictures of beautiful scenery, and you can also go to the glacier Going forward, the water is very clear and ice-cold, and you can drink XD. It is very worthwhile to go with a kayak!
Wonderful experience. Underwater observatory can be given a miss, but otherwise good experience and easy to redeem process
