Bongawan Mangrove Cruise and Fireflies Tour

We were a group ranging from 8yrs to 71yrs. This trip was great for all! The transfer was comfortable, we saw Proboscis and long tail macaques, crocodiles and birds. The sunset was breathtaking and the fireflies were so beautiful. on the beach, you can pay extra to ride a small ATV which was likely the highlight of my 12yr old’s day! Our guide, Cathy was wonderful, we learned a lot about the mangroves and the creatures because of her!

This is a great experience for me. The sunset is so beautiful which is unforgettable scene from nature. My tour guide A.K.A. driver who is petty nice and patient to take many photos and videos for me. I am so glad to meet every staffs on the ship, especially the ship guide would tell so many acknowledgement details of mangroves. I do really enjoy this activity! Thank you all.

We had a great time for all the activities. We saw the proboscis monkeys, long-tailed macaques, monitor lizard, egret and a glimpse of a crocodile in the river cruise. Our guide, Eddie, is professional for taking our photos and video at the Dream Beach Sky Mirror sunset scenery. The fireflies cruise after dark is mystical too. We had local tea-time and dinner at the jetty too. Thank you Klook for such awesome experience.

It was a very satisfying and enjoyable trip! Our tour guide, Xiao Wenren, was also very nice, enthusiastic, responsible, friendly, and patient. He spoke Chinese and English very well. He took good care of us along the way and helped us take a lot of beautiful photos! We saw a super beautiful sunset and cute little animals in the mangroves! We also saw proboscis monkeys, macaques, and fireflies. We were very satisfied and will book again next time if we have the chance!

Taking a small boat to see proboscis monkeys in the mangrove conservation area is a great activity for all ages. In addition, there are beautiful sunset photos and scenery at Mirror Beach.

What a great day we had. The bus arrived on time to pick us up and the tour guide Simon was really helpful and very knowledgeable. We made a pit stop at the chocolate factory and tried some of the wonderful chocolates. The second leg of the journey was quite long until we got to the river. There we met Eddie. He is a very good guide and told us all about the river, the mangroves and the animals that live there. He was able to point out proboscis monkeys hiding in the tree tops. After this first river excursion we had a local meal which was very tasty and plentiful. The third part of our trip was to the coast where we took some great sunset photos. On the way back to the bus Eddie and his colleagues slowly went up the river and, as it was getting dark, the thousands of fireflies began their light show and even came into the boat. It was a truly unforgettable experience. Thanks go to Simon and Eddie for making it so enjoyable.

This trip was the best of my Sabah tour as I could watch the long-nosed monkeys, fireflies and beautiful sunset. The guide was very helpful and professional. He could tell us many relevant and interesting information. We appreciated his passion.

Both the dispatch and the driver-guide were fantastic, making it a perfect travel experience! The dispatch staff promptly confirmed the time and hotel pickup with us. After that, they added the driver-guide for the day to the chat group after consulting our preferences, which put my impatient self at ease. And here, I want to especially thank our driver-guide, Brother Wan: Before the trip, Brother Wan thoughtfully provided reminders about precautions and clothing suggestions for the itinerary, and arrived early at our hotel to wait for us. Throughout the trip, Brother Wan's knowledge and love for Sabah and the mangrove forests, as well as his care for us, were very touching. Through Brother Wan's detailed explanations, we gained a deeper understanding of Sabah and Malaysia. From introducing various unique locations along the way to recommending local delicacies, from historical development to the ecosystem, from Sabah's cultural environment to the natural protection of plants and animals... During the trip, he also thoughtfully prepared binoculars and laser pointers for our child, helping us to discover and witness the various mangrove ecosystem plants and animals that we never had the opportunity to learn about in the city, marveling at the power of life and the wonders of nature! Amidst the beautiful scenery and mysterious nature, Brother Wan also actively took many stunning photos for us, making us feel like we captured the best photos of our lives. Our 7-year-old had a great time and also gained a lot of knowledge that she usually doesn't learn in China or at school. Throughout the trip, with Brother Wan's company, we were lucky enough to see surprisingly large water monitors and crocodiles that we had only seen on screen, discovered a family of proboscis monkeys hiding in the mangrove forests, and fireflies like stars, witnessed the glow of the sunset and the starry sky that only existed in childhood memories. Sabah is truly beautiful, and the people of Sabah are really great. I recommend everyone to try this trip, as children from the city will be touched by the power of nature.
