Loy Krathong & Lantern Festival 2026 at Horizon Village Chiang Mai

This was the highlight of my trip to Chiang Mai. The experience was so magical. Very organized from registration, to performances, to buffet management (lots of food - more than enough for the attendees), booth games, loy krathong, and lantern release ceremony. The program schedule was followed accordingly. Plus the area is only less than 20 mins grab bike away from the city center - very accessible. Highly recommended if you want to experience Yi Peng & Loy Krathong at a budget level but worthwhile memory! Perfect execution of fireworks before and during lantern release. Just a recommendation, since they can only accommodate 1-2k pax, better to provide 2 lanterns for each so there will be more lanterns flying around!

We recently attended the Sky Lantern Gala at Horizon Resort and had a really wonderful evening. The whole event was full of romantic and mysterious atmosphere. When the sky lantern slowly rose into the sky, it seemed to take away all our worries and wishes. The environment of the resort is very beautiful, surrounded by greenery and fresh air, making people feel relaxed and happy. Elaborate lighting and scenery were set up at the party, adding a lot of romantic atmosphere. During the event, the staff were very enthusiastic and professional. They introduced the meaning and process of releasing sky lanterns in detail, allowing each participant to experience the unique charm of this event more deeply. We also wrote our wishes on the sky lanterns. When the sky lanterns slowly rose into the sky, our hearts were filled with hope and expectation. Overall, this sky lantern show allowed us to feel the beauty of integrating with nature, and also experience the joy of letting go of our worries and making wishes. If given the opportunity, I will participate again in the future and recommend it to friends who love romance and relaxation.

Absolutely an amazing experience. Surely? one of the highlights of Yi Peng and Loy Krathong. The whole venue is festive, and the food concessioner were organized perfectly. Almost every dish were from the northern thai dish and it was absolutely delicious, I personally liked the thai northern sausage, it had a kick in it, morover, the skewers (not sure it it's satay) are also a standout. Good thing that they put different stations of food to prevent overcrowding in queue. The lanna performances were good as well, they showcased incredible dancing performances. The lantern releasing was well-organized even though there are only a thousand of us in the venue still the sky lit up with our lanterns together with the fireworks display. Every one must try it nect year, you wont regret it

The Loy Krathong Festival at Horizon was such a beautiful experience. The place had a calm and special atmosphere, and releasing the krathong felt really meaningful. Everything was organized well and the staff were kind. A memorable moment for me.

Very well organized event, food was not too bad, the lantern release was about 1000 people. The event is a bit long for us, I'd recommend going later in the day so you won't be waiting. We scheduled Grab rides ahead of the event and was able to get a driver. The event organisers had cars for 700 baht and red trucks if you have trouble finding a ride home. I would recommend this event if you want to participate in an organized lantern release but don't want to go all the way to the big one.

Had a magical night during Loy Kratong Festival. The event is well organized. There are a lot of activities that you can do like games, massage, making your own lantern and kratong. There are also various Thai food that is included in the event. There are performances that exhibit the Thai culture. Overall had an amazing experience and will definitely go back.

I really enjoyed it! The event was smaller compared to the other bigger events organized in chiang mai but Horizon’s loy krathong celebration was very organized. The staff were nice and helpful, the program and performances were nice, and the free food was also good. i had a hard time launching my lantern to the sky since i was alone and clueless but the staff helped me. overall a nice experince. it was just hard to commute back to my hotel.

The place is spacious with tons of picture-perfect spots. The food included in the package is unlimited and so good! There are plenty of areas to sit and relax, and the event was well organized with numbered seats. Definitely a must-try! Hoping to come back again in the coming years!

Amazing experience! Note to organizers: please do not explode fireworks right above people's heads. Also, please make main stage for last performance wider and bigger. Artists were clearly a bit crammed on the stage and they would appreciate more room to perform on. Other than that everything is organized nicely, navigation and schedule communicated clearly. We arrived way too early for the event at about 14:30 but resort staff invited us to explore the territory and it was quite nice. I loved the garden, mini-zoo, the whole area is well maintained. It is lovely and romantic! If you are looking to participate in main event of releasing the lanterns only you can make here at about 19:40. Buffet was good as well, I love Thai cuisine but what else is new...

amazing spectacular night to experience . the highlight of our trip to chiangmai from Taiwan . Happy to experience and witness the festival . Food was amazing all delicious and the Hot air baloon was also a surprise to us . event is very organized Especially the floating and lantern release . Highly recommended 👍👍👍
