Kyoto Kimono Rental Experience & Japanese Makeover & Photoshoot (Provided by Ookini Arashiyama Store)

It was AWESOME ❤️‍🔥! I arrived early and was seated right away. The ladies were very welcoming and very kind 🥺. There was a lot of choice of kimono, all beautiful 🤩🥰! Very nice shop, I recommend!! Several ladies helped me put on my kimono before giving me a very beautiful hairdo with ornaments. Shoes and a bag of my choice were also provided 🥰. My things were kept at the shop while I enjoyed the area. Don't hesitate. Go there, it's a great brand 10/10❤️

We had the pleasure of visiting a wonderful kimono rental shop, and we couldn’t be more impressed with the experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome, but especially the lady who attended to us. She was incredibly accommodating, taking the time to explain the different kimono options and helping us choose the perfect ones for our day. She even gave us helpful tips on how to wear the kimono properly and the best ways to take photos in the beautiful surroundings of Arashiyama. Overall, we had an unforgettable experience and highly recommend this kimono rental shop to anyone looking to enjoy traditional Japanese culture in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. It is located on the way to Arashiyama Chikurin and is about a 7-minute walk from Saga-Arashiyama Station. I went exactly at 10:30 as I had made a reservation, and it didn't really matter if I was late for the reservation. The people who helped me change my clothes were kind and I could feel the spirit of Kyoto. Since it was winter, they told me to wear something like underwear inside, but it would be cold even wearing that in the middle of winter. I made a reservation with the full lace option, but I think it wasn't necessary. ㅎㅎ And the kimono was so pretty that I liked it!! I don't recommend wearing straw sandals? Those traditional shoes. Your toes will hurt so much and your feet will be numb. ㅜㅜ They also did my hair nicely, and they parted it in the Japanese style, like 2:8. I think people may or may not like it. I had my hair extensions, so I only did 4:6, and that was better. ㅎㅎ I returned it after two hours this time, but next time I want to wear it for a really long time! I recommend it.

Location: Perfect location near arashiyama station and it is also near to the popular attraction in arashiyama. Staff: they are very friendly, the master sensei is very nice and tourist friendly and really know how to choose the best kimono for their customer. The quality of the kimonos we've used are authentic and on a high grade. you can choose differnt kinds of kimono with sizes from small to extra large, colors and design.

Such an amazing experience! We booked a 90min photography session, and kimono rental. Photographer was ready at the kimono shop once we were done changing. No need to message for one. He spoke Chinese, a little English and Japanese so we didn’t have too much of a language barrier. Our pictures turned out amazing so it was hard to pick some for him to professonally edit. If you’re not use to photoshoots I would definitely practice what kind of smile/ mood you would like for your pictures.

A fantastic experience! The shop assistants were all very friendly. If you don't know how to coordinate your outfit, they will actively help you. The kimono prices are very affordable! Being able to wear such a beautiful kimono and take photos fulfilled my long-held wish 🥰. The exquisite hairstyle was also done very beautifully, and my friends all praised how good it looked! I highly recommend this place and will come back again if I have the chance.

Extremely satisfied! The emotional value is off the charts, and I'm incredibly happy. I will recommend this place to any and all babies coming to Japan! The package deals are a great value, the service is patient, gentle, and considerate, and the kimono styles are beautiful. There's absolutely no forced spending, and you don't have to lift a finger – the professional staff handles dressing and undressing you in the kimonos. The hairstyles are super beautiful. I even got my picture taken by foreign friends in the Bamboo Forest Path – such a delightful experience! Don't miss this shop; the lace kimonos are gorgeous.

If you want to experience kimono in Arashiyama, please come to Ookini. The sisters and aunts on site gave a lot of advice on choosing kimonos and hairstyles. They helped me choose the ones that suit my daughter's age and made her look beautiful, leaving beautiful memories for her when she just turned 12. I sincerely recommend it to everyone.
