What to expect
Buy the Swiss Half Fare Card and enjoy up to 50% off standard ticket prices on most transportation across Switzerland for up to 1 month. With this card, you pay less every time you buy a ticket, making it an ideal option for travelers who prefer flexibility.
The Swiss Half Fare Card can be used on trains, buses, trams, and boats throughout Switzerland’s nationwide public transport network.
It also offers up to 50% off most mountain railways, cable cars, and funiculars, allowing you to save on popular alpine excursions. You can use the card when purchasing tickets for well-known attractions and mountain destinations such as Jungfraujoch, Grindelwald Mt. First, Glacier 3000, Gornergrat, Schynige Platte, Schilthorn, and Harder Kulm as well as regional passes like the Berner Oberland Pass, and Jungfrau Travel Pass (discounts apply to standard fares).
Simply buy the Swiss Half Fare Card once, then purchase individual tickets as you travel — the discount is applied automatically on eligible routes. This makes it a budget-friendly alternative to the Swiss Travel Pass, especially if you don’t plan to travel every day or prefer to pay per journey.

Swiss Half Fare Card is value for money than Swiss Travel Pass as you still can buy Day Travel Pass at half price if buy ticket earlier. Although the purchased card cannot stored in SBB Swiss Transport app, it is still alright to show the digital document saved in phone when requested. Recommend to buy.
Seamless travel with the Half Fare Card.Saved a lot of money when purchasing the tickets for train, which is essential for traveling in Switzerland. Some attractions that we went to are also valid for half price. The only complain is that we cannot put the pass into the SBB app so its a little inconvenient. Other than that, all is good!
The Half Fare Card is very convenient to use. You simply show the QR code to the conductor as proof of purchase. In rare cases, they may ask to verify the validity date on your voucher. Most transportation fares are discounted by 50% with this card. It is especially suitable for travelers staying longer and using a variety of transport options. With proper fare planning, it can be more cost-effective than the Swiss Travel Pass.
You will be saving a lot if you buy a half fare card when visiting Switzerland for 5 days or more. It covers all public transportation and all activities. Buying this card on Klook is much easier and cheaper than directly buying from SBB site or app since you can use a lot of available discount vouchers and klook rewards. You just have to add your code on your SBB account and all prices will be 50% off.
need to do your math to know whether this is worth it for you. no one else can help you if you don’t plan your trip in advance and do your math. but of course if convenience > cost for you, pls buy the full swiss pass
super worth it for a 8d7n trip in switzerland! good to work out ur journey and calculate if this or the swiss travel pass is more worth it~ just need to flash qr code when asked by the train conductors
I would recommend this over the Swiss Travel Pass if you have a more relaxed itinerary spread over a few days. The half fare card gives you more flexibility to do that and is valid for 30 days. Children ride free if accompanied by an adult who holds this pass. Truly worth it.
The Swiss half fare card is a good bargain for travelling in Switzerland. Can be used for trains, trams, scenic railways, funiculars, gondolas, ferries. Great way to save money and easy to use (just show QR code)
We computed and found this more worthwhile than buying the travel pass because of the places we planned to visit, Indeed very good and useful as it gave discounts to everything we are taking in Zermatt to Matterhorn, Grindelwald to Jungfraujoch, and on every train ride we take.
Save so much when you travel by the train across Swiss as the fare is quite expensive. Recommend to buy this instead of Swiss pass if you travel here less than 2 weeks as if you want to travel inside the city, some hotels will give you free pass for your stay in the city.
