This was our second stay at Modala after a memorable December 2023 visit with our families. We returned for the warmth, cleanliness, and inviting atmosphere we once loved. Sadly, some charm has faded — the koi pond had algae, the garden looked dry, and areas like the pool and balcony showed signs of wear. Though staff remained friendly, we struggled with unanswered calls and emails. Most disappointing was the unfulfilled anniversary surprise I arranged for July 22. Despite advance notice, it wasn’t ready on time. The belated setup, though appreciated, felt underwhelming. We also noticed the signature scent was faint and the pool water murky. Still, food and service remained excellent. A simple, consistent guest greeting could further elevate the experience. We’re hopeful to return in September and wish to see improvements so our family continues to call Modala our #1 favorite. Thank you, and I hope this feedback helps.
