Overall services is not too bad, but not up to Fairmont standard. The hotel is on the lake side with good scenery, but not convenient if you don't drive.

Fantastic Wonderful experience, my only complaint was it seemed like we were there off-season or something. The outdoor pool and water recreation facilities were closed, not sure why. Everything else was great and I especially enjoyed some wonderful massages. I would definitely recommend.

We went to Suzhou to see old friends and stayed at the lovely Fairmont. We were only there for one night but would love to come back and stay longer.

Fantastic This hotel and the staff deserves 5 stars. From the start I was made to feel welcome. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. I enjoying the honey harvest, and rode one of the hotel bicycles around their park, along the lake shore and through the organic farm. Dinner was excellent. I also had a couple of spa treatments which were very relaxing.
Watch out for the 15% service charge. I feel this is the only thing the management should realise is not a good thing. I've stayed in a few good hotels that don't sneak a service charge on top of an already expensive room and other charges. It's unnecessary.

Great The hotel is beautiful in a scenic location on lakefront. The view of the lake is nice, but the lake itself is nothing but a large fish farm as far as the eyes can see almost the entire lake. Every morning the lake is filled with fishing wooden boats. Room rate during my stay was nice, but food is expensive in the 2 restaurants. Unfortunately there is no nearby walking-distance restaurant to go for dinner. A small cup of Tom Yum soup with 1 shrimp, mussel, and few pieces of squid cost 78RMB while green tea after the meal costs 40RMB. I was stuck at the hotel using the 2 high-priced restaurants for the few nights. I will stay at other hotels next time back in the area.

Below average The Hardware is excellent but typically Chinese management. The service do not match up. The cleaning lady would just open the door without knocking. I have been there several time for business and believe their service were better at high season.

Good Hotel location is by the lake, very scenic and good for weekend getaway, especially during the hairy crab season. However, there are quite a few cons. First the hotel is built cheaply. Walls are thin and everytime someone walks by, we could hear them. The A/C seems to come out of the bathroom so no matter how low I set the thermostat, the room is a bit stuffy but the bathroom is freezing. There is not enough F&B space for the size of the hotel. At breakfast, it is complete chaos. people have to sit out in the hallways. Breakfast food is quite bad so I can't imagine why the previous reviews said breakfast selection is good. The worst part is, while not the hotel's fault, there are just way too many people (and they are loud and inconsiderate). At times, I feel like I'm at a Chinese wet market rather than a resort. I wanted to bring my wife to a resort location near Shanghai for her birthday but it just wasn't that pleasant of experience. The only good thing I can say about this hotel is the staff are generally quite nice and friendly, (even if occassionally I run into a staff who has no idea what's going on).
