When I decided to visit China for the first time, as a female solo-traveller who does not speak Mandarin, I didn’t know what to expect from the experience. But I am so happy to report that everything about the experience was incredible. From the moment I made the klook booking to the moment I was dropped off for my return flight, everything was beautifully arranged and managed by the tour company. It was so easy to contact people from the company and ask questions at any time (literally 24/7) using WeChat. The small group size was great. It meant having some company without getting overwhelmed by the crowd and busyness of a larger group that is typical of bigger companies. The driver was excellent at his job and even gave us good information along the way and took great photos for us. The itinerary is well-arranged - we spent a bit of time in lower altitudes like Lijiang and Dali before heading to places like Shangri-La which helped us acclimatise. The company provides a face scarf (UV protection), an inflatable travel pillow and oxygen can to make the journey more comfortable. All-in-all it was an excellent experience and one I can recommend wholeheartedly.

Would recommend this tour if one requires a convenient and worry-free tour to see the beautiful sights between Lijiang and Shangri-La! 国国师傅 was determined to help us catch the Meili snow mountain views, letting us off at a viewpoint on day 1 to catch it and recommending places near our hotel for us to catch it agai, with sunrise, on day 2.

My friend and I were very satisfied with the itinerary arrangement, which was a very good experience. A friend could not join the tour temporarily. After the company knew about it, they upgraded us from a scattered group to a small independent group and arranged a 5-seater car to pick us up. The lunch was also very good, very delicious hometown food, but the portion was too much, which was a bit wasteful.

The driver was very kind and the explanations were quite informative. The trekking course may feel difficult, but the experience combined with the natural scenery was very meaningful. I thought it would be a simple lunch, but there was quite enough with bread and fruit.

The guide was pretty good, and the scenery was beautiful. The fellow travelers on the road were of high quality. Getting out and interacting with different people broadened my horizons. The hotel was especially nice, but you might experience some physical discomfort going to the plateau. I might not have slept well the first two nights, but everything else was pretty good! 👍

I think I was extremely fortunate to join this tour. If you want to experience the wonders of northern Yunnan, including trekking along Hutiaoxia (tiger leaping gorge), marvelous Shangrila temples, golden dawn of Meili mountain, this is the must-go trip. I have travelled Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Luoyang, Dongbei region, Xiamen and Quanzhou, even Xinjiang, this was the best trip so far in China. I am also very grateful to the tour organizer for arranging very nice hotels with limited budget. I was able to communicate with the guide with my limited Chinese, so it is better to make sure you are accompanying with an English speaking guide or tour participants ahead of time. Tiger Leaping Gorge, Shangri-La, and Songzanlin Monastery were all great. The ethnic dance and performance I saw while having lunch after the Dukezong and Buckwheat Fields tour were especially impressive.
