it was a good experience! the sight of the sunrise was an awesome one. be prepared to wake up really early though! we went twice, as due to rain / clouds on the first day we weren’t able to see the sunrise or stars well. the guide also stopped by for us to take pictures of a sea of clouds on the way down.

this was quite an enjoyable hike, managed to hike to 4 places in the 2 days. covered the Hehuan Main Peak, Dong Feng, Shimen Mountain, and little Qilai. even get to see the sunrise. my guide was Snowmen, who is very knowledgeable about the Mountains. we managed to see many floral in the Mountain including the shuijinglan and seven leaves one flower plant printed on the 1000 Taiwanese bill. the weather was perfect for hiking, the accommodation at the mingshu was fantastic, hot shower , TV, coffee, aircon and fan was provided and a short walk to 7-11.
the 2 meals included was also very nice with about 8 courses to share in the group. I enjoy the pace as you cab get to rest any time.

Had an exceptionally great time! Our tour guide, Ken, is incredibly knowledgeable. You can tell he put a lot of effort into preparing, explaining the scenic spots and their backstories along the way. His service is outstanding. He opened the car door for us all day and joked, "This is my job, please don't steal it from me, haha!" Under Ken's guidance, we perfectly completed all the attractions within the scenic area without feeling tired. You can take a short break on the way to Alishan in the afternoon. I mentioned that I really like the Taiwanese countryside but haven't had the chance to visit. Upon hearing this, he immediately said, "I'll take the countryside route in a bit, just to show you the Taiwanese countryside." The scenery along the way was indescribable; the beauty was beyond words. Ken also took many beautiful photos for us and provided a certain level of emotional connection. I'm grateful that this trip allowed me to meet such a great tour guide and driver. I hope to have the opportunity to meet again!

I am penning this down to write an outstanding compliment to our tour guide Mason whom not only amazing/ knowledgeable at what he does, but also who went all out to save our lives during the 2024 earthquake where Hualien was at the epicentre, 2 days ago.
The day before the tour, Mason contacted us personally to arrange the pickup from our hotel and to confirm the time. When we first met on the day, he has been an amazing guide, so vibrant, humourous, lively and full of zest. He took the time an effort to remember our names personally and engage/interact with us whenever he can. Not forgetting he is also a great photographer and knows all the best spots to stand to have the best angle on all the location. Just ask him and he knows the best
Love the “Taiwan Island” group photo he took for us; attached below.
Mason’s exceptional expertise in Hualien and Taroko Gorge was evident in every aspect of our journey. His in-depth knowledge, attention to detail, and engaging storytelling brought the history and beauty of the region to life. We felt privileged to have such a knowledgeable guide who not only shared valuable information but also fostered a deep connection with the place.
His passion for the destination was contagious, and we left the tour with a newfound appreciation for Hualien and Taroko Gorge. In fact, it’s from this trip I’ve discovered that my ancestors thousands of years ago are linked to the Amis people of Taiwan and that got me mindblown ! Something that even my family was not aware of that we have roots all the way in Taiwan.
After the day tour, we went our separate ways and the very next day was the fateful day where Hualien was struck a 7.4 magnitude earthquake where we were at the epicentre. As Mason has our contact number, he personally checked on us on our wellbeing.
Many of us are panic-stricken from the natural disaster. I was about to check out from my hotel when the disaster struck and was informed all roads and trains up north to Taipei has been closed or damaged from the earthquake. We were trapped in Hualien unable to leave the epicentre. There is no way out from the city to evacuate.
Mason literally came to the rescue ! He used his personal car to pick us all up from the hotel and some of us stuck at Hualien Train station. The only way out from the epicenter to Taipei is to drive 7 hours convoy south towards Kaoshiung and take the HSR, which he tireless drove non-stop all the way to ensure the safe evacuation of the 7 of us.
He said he felt a sense of responsibility to ensure us visitors are safely evacuated out from the disaster area and that we can safely return to Taipei and back to Singapore for our flights.
Mason has been our life saver as we were literally trapped in Hualien if it wasn’t for his heroic endeavour to organise an evacuation route for us within his own resources. I am thankful and grateful for his valiant act to ensure safe passage out of Hualien and it is highly commendable !
Thank you Mason Cheng Kuo-Hsiang 鄭國祥 for rescuing us from a natural disaster ! Your heroic efforts deserves a medal !

Very comfortable itinerary, suitable for all kinds of customers, elders or children can also have fun. The round-trip transportation time is short, the explanation is vivid, and the demonstration of DIY is carefully dried. Go out to sea in the break to feed the terns at close range. The lobster noodles for lunch are delicious, and the price is reasonable. There are also coffee and drinks that can be made first, which is very convenient. Unfortunately, the wind and waves are a little big, and the activities will be slightly adjusted. The fried DIY small rolls are delicious during the low tide. 🤤 The intertidal zone ecological tour also considerately prepares special shoes and gloves suitable for walking. Step on the water and turn over the stones to find various marine creatures, sea urchins, starfish, hermit crabs, etc., which is quite fun. The elders, who are nearly 80 years old, also had a lot of fun. Thank you to the staff during the trip, they are all very enthusiastic and kind. The elders also had a lot of fun.

Our Tour Guide is very kind to wait for us because we got lost in the Taipei Main Station, we know that they strictly follows the scheduled time but they don’t let us waste our money for this trip. The tour guide was well spoken in english and make the tour easier because of his assistance in each of the places we visit. They even gave us a sausage after the tour. This tour is very recommended if you’re a nature lover and loves to hike, Wulai Waterfalls is a breathtaking view. Thank you for this one of a kind experience

Highly recommended, driver is very friendly and knowledgeable! Helps to take photos and tries to find the best spot for sunrise. Also went out of his way to drop me off at the sheep farm instead of where I was picked up, thank you! Didn't catch any stargaze or sunrise cause it's too foggy though.
