Things to do in Nantou

As a solo traveler, I did enjoy my trip today 11/23/2025 and one of the best part of the trip is the hotel pick up 🤣less hussle for a tourist like us. Also, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to Uncle Jun for guiding us throughout our Sun Moon Lake & Cingjing farm day tour today. His kindness, patience, and professionalism made our trip truly enjoyable. He also has an amazing talent for photography—capturing beautiful group and solo shots for us—and even went the extra mile by creating a wonderful video compilation of our memories. Thank you so much, Uncle Jun, for making our experience unforgettable. We truly appreciate your efforts! I would also recommend him as a tour guide, by the way his vehicle # is RCZ-1289 ❤️

Our guide Ken spoke only Chinese but was friendly, interactive, and an excellent photographer. He confirmed our booking the night before and picked us up at 7:20 AM. As reviews mentioned, he suggested switching the schedule to visit Cingjing Farm first. We agreed, but many shops were closed and only one show was running. It was our first visit, and the farm was so large that the Sky Bridge wasn't worth buying. Lunch at 活蝦啤酒城(Chicken King) was delicious. Ken is also a very good driver- despite the mountain roads, we didn't feel dizzy. He even advised us to avoid street vendors that recently had food poisoning cases. At Sun Moon Lake, he asked for a last-minute 50 NTD top-up for a "private boat" even though our package included a boat ride, which felt unusual. But the visit during the boat tour was relaxing and enjoyable. Overall, Ken was very helpful and took many great photos for us.

Nantou's Water and Pine Cute Garden is truly like stepping into a "real-life animal picture book"! From the Highland cattle's adorably blank stares to the tortoises' leisurely strolls, each animal has its own healing power. Chinchillas and Valais Blacknose sheep are as playful as children, white kangaroos hop around nimbly, and the hairless hamsters' chubby appearance is unbelievably cute 😍. And the meerkats standing guard in formation look like they're having an animal conference; capybaras are the park's "healing kings," and just watching them soak in the water makes you feel instantly relaxed. This place is more than just getting close to nature; it's like a "cuteness overload"! Adults and children alike can be healed here. We highly recommend everyone come for a visit and let the little animals melt away your stress~

The ride was very nice! :) I enjoyed the view :) For the ropeway, I really enjoyed it but for those with Acrophobia (fear of heights) like my husband, this may not be a good idea. Nonetheless Sun Moon Lake is breathtaking! 🥰🥰

Convenience of booking with Klook: [Guangfu Holiday | Kids' Energy Unleashed x Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village] Even though I've been busy with work these past two days, I still need to take the kids out for a walk this weekend~ This time, the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village's Halloween event, "Demon Festival: Origins," has made a grand debut, combining Taiwanese ghost stories 👻 and Japanese Yokai culture 🇯🇵. There are also aboriginal crafts and a cross-over with the national film "Mud Doll" to create an immersive horror zone. The kids rushed to the Gold Mine Adventure, the Giant Vortex, took the cable car, rode the Flying Boat, and searched for Yokai, laughing all the way. I really have to admit I'm getting old, some of the facilities are still quite thrilling (or just pretending to be brave 🤣). One trip, daytime is a family adventure in the Yokai world ~ this is the best holiday rhythm ❤️.

Buy one get one free for tickets, which is like getting a free ticket to Jiujiufeng Animal Park. We went there during two weeks of holidays, and we could spend the whole day at Jiujiufeng. Compared to when we first went there, there were more animals, and staff would feed the animals! You have to participate in the animal parade, and you can feed the ducks and lambs at the end. They are so cute!

It is highly recommended to walk along this 1.2 km path. This skywalk connects swiss garden to Qingjing farm. One day perfect iternary would be to visit Swiss garden first. Then take the skywalk to enter Qingjing farm from which, you can walk back to swiss garden back.

Walking along the forest trails in Xitou is incredibly refreshing. You're surrounded by towering cedar trees and lush green bamboo forests, and the air is so clean you can't help but take deep breaths. As you stroll, listening to the birds singing, you feel completely relaxed, as if you've temporarily escaped the hustle and bustle of the city. It instantly puts you in a great mood, and you can capture a lot of beautiful photos. However, some trails are temporarily closed due to previous typhoon damage, which is a bit of a shame. Hopefully, they'll be reopened by my next visit. Also, the Klook package includes free tea bags from You Shan Cha Fang, which is a nice perk. The staff there are very friendly, and you even get a complimentary cup of freshly brewed tea. I highly recommend it to everyone.
