Porto District Tours

We enjoyed tour with variety of qine testing. Tour guide, Thomas explained history of Porto and economy and industry of Porto. It was insightful. Also a driver Carlos drives very gentle and make the long journey comfortable. Food was good and only thing I would like to mention about a quality of coffee. I didn't drink coffee after a bit of test the coffee and noticed other partisans didn't finish the coffee. Overall a good experience and worth to join the tour.

I booked the boat trip through the Klook platform on the morning of the departure day, for the 2:30 PM slot. I arrived 20 minutes before departure to queue, and once on board, I could choose my own seat. After the boat set off, I was able to admire the beautiful scenery of the Douro River and the surroundings of the Dom Luís I Bridge. It was truly stunning.

It was great one day experience day trip from Lisbon , Obidos , Nazaré and Porto. Really worth the trip. Tour guides Francisco and Maria both are amazing walking through the Porto culture and history. A staff member wearing a red jacket will be waiting at the meeting point to assist and guide you to the boarding area. The tour guide/driver alternated between English and Spanish to introduce the small stories along the way from Porto city center to Braga, and carefully attended to everyone on the bus. The weather was bad that day, with rain, wind, and fog, but even in such a disheveled state, the whole trip was enriched by the guide's added value. Bom Jesus do Monte Sanctuary, the water-powered funicular, the Five Senses Fountain, and seeing the Braga city skyline after the fog gradually dissipated, were still worth the price despite the wind and rain. The climate is volatile, and the "Casa das Estampas" shop here specializes in selling religious icons, postcards, and local souvenirs. The store has umbrellas (about EUR9) and disposable raincoats (about EUR5) available for temporary purchase, which can be effective in helping if you encounter rain in a windproof and waterproof jacket during the uncomfortable winter.

The Douro River offers various types of tours. If you're short on time and on a budget, you can opt for this one-hour cruise. The boat does not provide explanations of the sights (bridges), so it's not considered a guided tour. For the meeting point, we followed the link to the second floor of the riverside shopping area, but it turned out to be the boat company's counter with the umbrella by the river. The scenery was beautiful and did not disappoint; it's still one of the activities you should plan when visiting Porto.

The itinerary was fantastic, and our guide Ana was very attentive. Her knowledge and experience were extensive, and she shared a lot about the scenery along the way, the Port wine-making process, the Douro River landscape, and Portuguese history. It's a great trip to quickly learn about Porto, experience Port wine, and discover a lot about the food culture.
