Things to do in Hobart

The Tasman Island Cruises Full Day Tour from Hobart was easily one of the highlights of my Tasmania trip. Our guide was incredibly friendly, helpful, and informative, making the whole day enjoyable from start to finish. The cruise was amazing—we saw stunning waterfalls, a historic lighthouse, playful seals, and even whales! The boat ride was exciting while still feeling very safe and well-organized. Other highlights included a lovely morning tea, delicious fish and chips for lunch (included), chocolate hazelnut ice cream (extra cost) at the Tasmanian Chocolate Foundry, and visits to the beautiful Safety Cove State Reserve and Remarkable Cave. Every activity was worth it, and I left with wonderful memories and a deeper appreciation for Tasmania's natural beauty. Highly recommended!

Very good experience on the tasman island cruise. Guides are friendly and nice. They provide a waterproof big coat to wear while on the cruise. Generally, no water splash on us. The "driver" has very good skills. Cruise not bumpy but very windy and cold wind blowing in your face. Can see alot of seals and nice view of Candlestick and other amazing views of the Tasman island area. Lucky enough to see dolphins and so near our boat.

Highly recommended. The captain was incredibly busy, introducing the itinerary, diving for seafood, filleting and cooking salmon, and navigating the boat. The other staff members were also very friendly, proactively sharing information about Tasmania's surrounding environment and types of seafood. However, if you're just looking for a seafood meal, the price might be a bit high. Nevertheless, this experience is definitely worth recommending.

My Bruny Island experience with Tassie Tours was absolutely outstanding, and a huge part of that was thanks to Andrew, our guide for the day. His energy, knowledge, and genuine enthusiasm for the island made the tour feel personal and unforgettable. What really set this tour apart were all the extra sightings and bonus stops Andrew added along the way. He has an incredible eye — he spotted white wallabies long before anyone else noticed them, and pointed out the most colourful mushrooms tucked away in the forest. These little discoveries made the day feel magical and gave us moments we never would’ve found on our own. The pacing of the tour was perfect, the commentary was engaging, and Andrew made sure everyone had time to enjoy each stop without feeling rushed. His passion for Bruny Island and its wildlife truly elevated the whole experience. A brilliant day from start to finish. Five stars for Tassie Tours and an extra five for Andrew. Highly recommended.

The scenery on the mountain is fantastic, and there are two stops along the way for you to take a few photos. However, you only get half an hour at the summit, though you can choose to take a later train, which gives you about an hour and a half there. Overall, it is definitely worth participating in.

The tour guide was excellent, telling us a lot about the animals and plants. Even though I don't understand a single word of English, it didn't stop me from enjoying the trip and appreciating the guide's dedicated work ethic! Highly recommend!

Jimmy is the guy, it was one of the best experience you could ever get for this price especially when everything is so transparent and educating so there is nothing to worried about, the way Jimmy articulated his words is just wonderful and made the trip even better

100% RECOMMENDED!! You will save a lot specially if visiting multiple places in Australia. It's easy to use and the inclusions are not bad!

Heather was absolutely terrific. She was friendly and provides heaps of information along the trip. The view of Wineglass Bay was stunning and we were blessed to meet a wallaby with a joey. Heather then brought us to a picnic place with a stunning view to eat our lunch and to see the lighthouse at Cape Tourville. Ended the wonderful day with a short stop at Devil's Corner where I shared a delicious wine paddle with my husband. A lovely day out and about in the beautiful nature!
