Multiday Sharing Tour to Mount Bromo & Ijen from Surabaya

The tour was really amazing, all the guides very nice. Would like to thank our driver Fauzi who took really good care of us and brought us around safely. Just expect to not get much sleep but that’s doesn’t matter as you’ll still have a good time. Accomodation very good for few hours of sleep.

This three-day, two-night trip to Surabaya felt more like an infantry training expedition. It tested not only physical strength but also endurance and spirit. Lack of sleep and poor meals were expected throughout the journey, but precisely because of this, the trip became exceptionally memorable. The entire itinerary was packed and intense. Long drives were often required between attractions, and the driver's skills were excellent, whether navigating winding mountain roads or cruising on highways, demonstrating both experience and expertise. As the trip also involved picking up other travelers, patience was sometimes needed for waiting, but this is part of group travel. On the first day, at 10:30 AM, we arrived at Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, which felt like stepping into a hidden paradise, breathtakingly beautiful. After enjoying the refreshing embrace of nature, we had dinner and arrived at a cozy, comfortable Javanese-style cabin for the night at 6:20 PM. On the second day, we departed at 12:30 AM. We had to make our way to the sunrise viewpoint without a guide. Navigating in the dark and cold 13-degree Celsius temperature was truly challenging. Therefore, headlamps are a must-have, and warm clothing is essential, or you can rent it. Afterward, at 6:30 AM, we arrived at Mount Bromo, where you could choose to ascend on foot or by horseback. On the third day, at 12:00 AM, we headed to Mount Ijen. The mountain path was steep and rugged, requiring an uphill climb followed by a descent into the active crater. Such terrain was a test of both physical stamina and willpower, but it also offered a profound appreciation for the awe-inspiring grandeur of nature. Here, I am very grateful to the responsible drivers and guides at each attraction, especially our best guide for Mount Ijen, SuKi. He constantly reminded everyone to be safe and continuously encouraged us throughout the journey. He was very professional and responsible, always looking after the team, especially those of us who fell behind due to fatigue. Upon reaching the volcanic rock, when informed that we couldn't witness the blue flames that day, Suki, to prevent disappointment, personally created blue flames for us to see. Furthermore, he was an excellent photographer, taking many beautiful photos for me, a solo traveler. Thank you so much! This made for precious and unforgettable memories of this adventurous journey.

The 4-day, 3-night Tumpak Sewu Waterfall + Ijen Volcano tour was amazing! As a Chinese girl traveling alone with only average English skills, I didn't feel any pressure at all. The whole trip was comfortable and the scenery was stunning. Tumpak Sewu Waterfall was so beautiful it left me speechless! I must especially praise the guide who led the way to the waterfall. He was very gentlemanly and considerate, offering help on dangerous sections, and taking photos with great care. Every photo he took was amazing, making the experience even better. The other guides were also dutiful and completed the service according to the procedure, without any perfunctoriness. The accommodation was also very reliable, clean and tidy, so I felt completely at ease. A small incident: There was a confusion with the amount charged by the driver going to Ijen Volcano. He charged 80k Indonesian Rupiah but said it was a 35k medical examination fee, and also mistakenly calculated 50k as 5k. Later, I carefully checked it and got the money back. But the driver on the last leg of the journey was super heartwarming. Knowing that I was a foreign tourist with poor English, he specially got out of the car near the hotel to help confirm the specific store in the local language, and also took the initiative to help carry my luggage. He was so gentle and kind, I was instantly warmed! Overall, it was a very satisfactory trip. Most of the staff were reliable and the value for money was good. I recommend it to friends traveling alone. Just be sure to double-check the amount when paying to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings.

Our amazing guides Nelsen and Leo at Tumpak Sewu, our driver at Bromo, and our guides Rama and Nana at Ijen. They went the extra mile explaining about the local culture to us. The whole team was amazing, thank you! For those who want to go, do prepare medicine for yourself as this is a back to back trip, it will be tirinf, but worth it.

We did the 3-day Tumpak Sewu – Bromo – Ijen tour and it was honestly the best experiences of our trip. Everything was well organized and smooth. At each spot, the guides were great, but special mention to Herytio and Nanang at Ijen, who really helped my friend when she was struggling during the hike. I was a bit worried about the service when I first saw the average reviews, but Klook was the cheapest platform I could find, and switching platforms didn't guarantee a better experience, so I decided to take my chances as planned. Turns out, I have absolutely no complaints about the vendor. The supplier contacted me the night before about a 10:00 AM pickup, but then contacted me again to move it up 30 minutes. The driver also arrived earlier than expected. I had seen other people's complaints beforehand, but they weren't a big deal for me. Only the Ijen guide spoke English, and the other drivers didn't speak much, but they were happy to answer questions and help using phone translation. We were lucky to only have 6 passengers in our jeep, so it wasn't too crowded. This tour is definitely a bit rushed, but in the end, it felt very worthwhile. The Bromo sunrise was beautiful and easy to walk to, but Ijen was very crowded and could be dangerous, so you need to assess your own abilities. Everyone going to Ijen has to pay an additional 30,000 for a health certificate, and the Ijen guide was very proactive in taking pictures for us. I didn't have high expectations for the accommodations, but they were clean, and the sleep quality wasn't too bad. There was also hot water for showers. The two breakfasts provided by the supplier were also very tasty, and they recommended and provided transportation to a good dinner spot. I contacted them early on to let them know that I would be going to Bali after the second day and provided my ferry tickets. They also provided a boat transfer service to my hotel in Bali, which was cheaper than booking a private car through other platforms. They arranged our itinerary from Surabaya to Bali perfectly. Highly recommended!
