What to expect

Hokkaido is famous in the ski world for its powder snow. The so-called powder snow refers to snow with low moisture content and dry texture, with distinct particles. Snow with high water content is suitable for making snowmen, making snowballs and snowball fights, while powder snow is not easy to condense and is soft and elastic when stepped on with feet or snowboards. Powder snow is the best for beginners in terms of safety and comfort. Powder snow is not afraid of falling! Not afraid of falling! Not afraid of falling! Come and learn to ski in Hokkaido!

Review for: 6-hour private ski lesson around Sapporo (Teine/Kokusai Ski Resort)

The tour guide wasn’t able to speak good English so instructions were unclear most of the time and for safety reasons, this probably wasn’t the best way to learn skiing. He also brought us to the steeper beginner slope instead of the gradual slope (which I learnt there was a gradual slope after leaving the place) after an hr and a half, asked us to pay for the lift tickets to take the gondola up and take pictures. As a first timer, it can be pretty daunting to start on the beginner slopes without clear guidance and instructions. The money wasn’t worth the private lesson at all. Should have just signed up with the first timer lessons provided at the entrance of teine instead.
