During my 3-night, 4-day trip to Fukuoka with my mom, I was looking for activities on our third day, which was entirely dedicated to Tenjin. I found a yukata/kimono experience and decided to sign up! I initially considered a kimono, but since it was June 1st, they switched to yukatas. It's definitely hot in Japan, so I think the slightly thinner yukata was a better choice. I booked the first slot at 9 AM and arrived a little early, about five minutes before, but they said the doors wouldn't open until exactly 9 AM, haha. So, while waiting, I saw a sign on the door advising to use the restroom beforehand, which I did. We then entered a little after 9 AM when they opened. I chose the Premium Deluxe Plan, and for the yukata, I picked from the Premium and 'One Star' options. Surprisingly, the 'One Star' ones seemed a bit prettier, so my mom and I each chose one from there. For hair, as per blog reviews, 'Two Star' options were available. I had already looked at some styles, so I went with 'Two Star' option #1. Since we were among the first three groups, we quickly put on the white inner garment, and then they did our hair. It was a braided style pulled to the side, and they asked which side I preferred, so I asked for the left. My hair turned out so incredibly beautiful that I was extremely satisfied. After the hair was done, we could choose hair ornaments. There were some free, round, candy-like ones, and then some prettier flower ones that cost an additional 500 yen. I just went with the free round one, haha. Still, I was satisfied! They also fitted the yukata well to my height, and for bags, the free options weren't particularly pretty, just plain, so I didn't pay extra. For shoes, I would have worn wooden clogs if they had been a bit softer, but they were completely hard wood, so we just wore our sneakers and walked around, making sure our feet weren't visible in photos. Also, it was so hot that we were going to use our own parasols, but then we thought, 'Since we're doing this, let's use theirs!' so we rented one for 500 yen, and I'm satisfied with it, haha. It matched the outfit so well and looked great in photos! We started at 9 AM, and after everything, we finished around 10 AM. We didn't plan on wearing it for too long, so we returned it before 12 PM. The photos turned out so pretty, and it was such a unique experience! I highly recommend it! 👍🏻
They are very professional and have instruction in English all the way . The staff are nice and friendly. For the price you pay and the way they service you is a bargain. they even got your hair done which is very nice.
The staff is friendly and helps us as professionals dress. The standard kimono option has quite a bit of selection; if you want more, you should pay more, but it's okay to wear them because you can select the accessories to match your dress for more cuteness. (I paid for a hairstyle, 1100 yen, and hair accessories, 5 at 550 yen each.) The location is in a small building; the Tenjin location is on the 4th floor. I recommend taking the bus to Ohori Park Japanese Garden to take pictures; it's so nice (park entry fee 250 yen).
The staff were really attentive and nice. They helped us pick the right combinations and adjusted the obi well. I will definitely book this place again if I return to Japan. 10/10 Super Recommended!!!!
this place is such a beauty, absolute breath taking , redemption is hassle free, the queue is short , it takes rougly about 5-10 minutes to redeem the voucher. the description of the tour is very detailled.where to redeem, where to meetup, tour guide is entertaining, kind and friendly. trip is highly reccommanded. everyone likes to beautiful things isnt it? go for it!
The shop, like other kimono shops, was small. Most of the basic styles were odd and exaggerated color combinations. The pretty ones that caught my eye all required an extra charge. My kimono 👘 alone cost an additional 9,000+ yen, and the obi (sash) and collar also incurred extra fees. The one my daughter liked was a premium kimono style, costing an extra 20,000+ yen! 😵💫 She cried and refused to wear any of the other basic styles, so I was forced to pay $1,600 for the total. Even slightly nicer hair accessories and handbags cost extra. I had already spent $1,000 on the Klook package, and with the additional $1,600 paid on the spot, our family of four ended up spending a total of $2,600 to wear kimonos... The value for money really wasn't great.
This is the second time I visit here. The staff's service attitude is kind and serious, and the clothes are clean and hygienic. The store is close to Tenjin subway station. You can go shopping in Tenjin underground shopping street in a yukata. The location is advantageous.
The female staff who wore glasses was very cute. She helped us choose and put them on without pressuring us at all. I don't know if some of the staff thought it was me, but I felt like they were a bit stern.🥹 Let's just say that I was very impressed by the people who wore glasses. The kimono is beautiful and clean. You can buy a normal one and then pay extra for it on-site. I bought the 2-star hairstyle. I secretly thought that if they gave me more hair accessories, it would be worth the price. (Actually, you can add more, but I didn't want to because I had already added a lot to the outfit. 😂) When I went, it seemed like it was the only shop in Fukuoka that was open during the New Year.🥹
I really enjoyed this experience. My daughter and I had plenty of time to choose our favorite styles and accessories. The staff communicated with us kindly using simple English and also gave us appropriate suggestions. I especially loved her beautiful hairstyle design. The service process was very smooth. After we finished, we could continue wearing the outfits until 5 PM before returning them. There's a beautiful shrine nearby for photos. We are very grateful for this team's service.
Except for the rain, everything else was very beautiful. Fortunately, there are several scenes downstairs that can be used for street photography. Otherwise, this day would be a bit of a pity.
