What to Expect Welcome aboard! Before departure, our crew will provide a safety briefing and introduction. Enjoy a scenic 12km return cruise along the lower reaches of the Murchison River—the furthest any vessel can travel. Along the way, hear fascinating commentary about the region’s history, fishing industry, wildlife and unique landscape. Keep an eye out for ospreys, pelicans, sea eagles, black swans and other birdlife, while kangaroos, emus and goats are often seen along the riverbanks. We pause at Rocky Crossing before returning downstream to the river mouth, where the Murchison River meets the Indian Ocean. The entire tour was in English, and the environmental and historical descriptions along the way were very interesting. The guide was really humorous. We were lucky enough to see dolphins on the way back, and even though the activity had already exceeded the scheduled time, they took everyone out on the boat to chase the dolphins. It was really great value.
