Gifu｜Shirakawa-go Gassho Village & Hida Takayama Old Town One-day Tour｜Departing from Nagoya

Such a splendid day tour! With 2 hours on each location, sure is enough to enjoy Shirakawa and Takayama. Our Japanese guide Michiko-san is very nice as well. I was there late November, the weather was very cold and there were already snow on the mountains.

theguide is very helpful and knows how to speak english. im solo traveller and she’s really helping me with the different parts of the site that needs to visit. i just dont recommend you to go in pictorial stage which the guide tells you to go - its a tourist trap, really expensive, aside from that everything goes smoothly.

The tour guide Michiko gave an introduction in Chinese and English. She was careful and responsible. The driver drove steadily and put safety first. It snowed heavily in Gassho Village the day before we went. For this trip, we went to Gassho Village in the morning. We originally thought that there would be an observatory in February. It is closed, but the result is that the car goes straight to the observation deck for 30 minutes, and then goes to the parking lot for a 2-hour visit. The morning tour of Gassho Village will not leave until 13:30. Because the snow scene that day is so beautiful, you can’t spare time to walk around and take pictures. Went for lunch, so I simply had kebabs and gohei pancakes to satisfy my hunger: and because I won’t arrive in Takayama until after 3 pm, many restaurants will be closed, so there will be less choices, but I still like to go to Shirakawago in the morning, such as The scenery will be better if you have a sunny view. It is really a convenient itinerary plan to choose.

Actually.. the Korean guide's product was canceled due to insufficient capacity;; I made a hasty reservation two days in advance, and in the end, it was a very satisfactory trip. Even though I couldn't speak Korean, they prepared printed information in Korean, and all I had to do was find out the meeting place and time, so there was no difficulty at all. Perhaps because I made a late reservation, my name was at the bottom of the list. It was written by hand^^; I was able to travel with a comfortable mind because they asked me once if I was okay with coming as a Korean woman alone and took care of me every time. ミチコさん、本当にありがとうございました~:) / However, it would be helpful to save time by doing some research on regional characteristics, restaurants, and specialties in advance. I think they give a simple explanation, but they don't tell you about the origin, which places are good to enjoy, or which restaurants are good, so you have to search for it on your own. I stayed in Shirakawa-go and Takayama for 2 hours each, which is more time than other products. Even though there was a lot to see, I felt like I didn't have enough time. In Shirakawa-go, I stopped by the observatory first, took a pretty picture with Shirakawa-go in the background (small pictures are free), and then moved to the village, so I saved time and enjoyed it comfortably. I went to Takayama in the afternoon. There were many shops that were closed, but it was nice to be able to enjoy it leisurely. Even though there were quite a few places that were closed, the traditional street was cool and there were so many cute souvenir shops and shops such as chopstick specialty store Nihonshu Shop, so if you don't pay close attention, your wallet will quickly drain. I guess hehe. Still, you should definitely try Hida Kyuri Zushi. It was really delicious. And I found Usagi Cafe by chance!! I had the Usagi set meal, but the drip coffee, chiffon cake, pudding, and red bean porridge set was 1,100 yen. Isn't that too cheap?! Among them, the taste of the coffee was really the best. Ah.. I want to go again.. The tatami room was decorated with cute rabbit ornaments. If you are a person who likes cute things, I recommend going there at least once. I heard that Takayama is famous for its morning market, so I'll try it again next time. I want to go~ I was worried that the product would be poor because it was so cheap compared to other products, but the bus driver was friendly and the schedule was leisurely, so I had a comfortable trip. Oh, by the way! The departure meeting place is written as Daikaku-dori in Korean, but Daiko-doriguchi is correct. It is easier to find by searching for Nagoya Ekinishi Police Box on Google Maps. It would be nice if this could be fixed.

A dream came true . It was unexpected that it snowed the day we went there . It was very cold but worth it. Had a great day . The place was beautiful . Our tour guide was very accommodating and helpful . It was a wonderful day

The tour was great! Michikosan, our tour guide is very informative and entertained all our questions. Seguirasan, our driver kept us safe & sound d whole trip, very good driver! Everything was well-paced and structured, and more than enough time was given to explore the beautiful locations! Would highly recommend this tour! Arigato! :)

The one-day tour to Hida Takayama in Shirakawa-go was great. It was very convenient without having to find a car by yourself. The tour guide also explained in Chinese, introduced the place, and got on and off the bus on time. The only disappointment was when we went to the observatory and the boss lady said that we didn’t make a reservation, so You can't get off at the observatory. You have to go back to the Shirakawa-go parking lot and go up by yourself by car or on foot. The tour guide was at a loss and felt embarrassed. He insisted on refunding the car fare per person, even if he didn't take the car. He went to Takayama in the afternoon and there were many shops. They are all closed, so we can’t eat Hida beef sushi, which is the most popular food. It would be better if we change our schedule.

Redeeming the tickets was incredibly smooth. We had a fantastic time exploring Gardens by the Bay. The experience was seamless and enjoyable from start to finish.

The meeting point is at the exit behind the Golden Clock, which is easy to find. Tour guide. Switching between Japanese and English, he introduced the scenic spots to everyone very kindly. It's a pity that the stay time in Gassho Village and Takayama should be swapped. The stop in Gassho Village took too long and I was waiting for the time to arrive. On the contrary, in the high mountain area, I had to walk from the parking lot to the old street and only had 2 hours to stroll around. I was in a hurry and finally ran back to the parking lot to get on the bus. However, it is still recommended that if you are only in Nagoya and don’t have a self-driving car, it is very convenient to take a day trip (by the way, if you can, don’t choose Wednesday! Many restaurants in Takayama Old Street are closed)

We had an anazing time! The trip is very well organized. Our guide was able to communicate properly. The places was so beautiful. Overall, super worth it!
