Taipingshan & Jiuzhize Hot Springs Day Tour from Taipei or Yilan

We went end of Oct so it was misty and rainy which can be somewhat troublesome, it's 12 degrees so do wear thicker clothing! Because it was so misty it felt like we were in a Japanese mountain from the movie, we managed to go to the hot spring (around 25-30mins) + cook corn and eggs! recommend to bring along swimming cap,slippers and swimwear for the hot spring! also would be good to bring your own bread to go along with the corn and egg although they do sell Ba Zhang (and some basic burger buns over there). our driver qisong is very friendly and helpful with excellent driving skills! oh I really liked the bong bong train too! do note for the bong bong you'll have to go up the staircase - saw some other older visitors struggling but manage to climb it might not be suitable for people with difficulty climbing

The driver is punctual. Always be there before the pick up time. We went for the Taipingshanzhuang route. Worth the trip, beautiful mountainous place. cloudy misty. Those who got car sickness need to bring medication as the way up the mountain is so winding and giddy. Overall is a very good experience.

Absolutely loved my visit to Taipingshan National Forest! The scenery was breathtaking—every corner looked like it came straight out of a postcard. It was incredibly peaceful and beautiful, the perfect escape into nature. One of the highlights was definitely the bong bong train ride—such a fun and charming experience! I left feeling refreshed and in awe of the natural beauty. Will 100% be coming back! Highly recommended for anyone who loves nature, tranquility, and a bit of adventure. Big shoutout to our driver, Mr.Chou, who was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely nice—he made the whole trip even more enjoyable with their warm personality and helpful insights.

taipingshan experience is a hidden gem of taiwan, every part of it is nice be sure to it first before travelling for now january 2026 there is no restaurant there in Jiuzhize it is under construction but you can boil egg and eat steamed buns. It was a nice a experience

The entire itinerary was well-planned, with 4 hours for sightseeing, plus 3 hours for the outbound journey and 3 hours for the return journey, totaling exactly 10 hours, which I felt was sufficient. I booked the outbound trip for 6:30 AM, but the driver actually arrived around 6:15 AM. The car was clean, and our driver, Mr. Wu, was very enthusiastic, telling us about good photo spots on Taiping Mountain and where to go sightseeing once we arrived. He also communicated the schedule very clearly. I highly recommend a day trip to Taiping Mountain if you get the chance!

Very peaceful trip! We were only 7 in this tour and the only Filipino in the group. Either way I get to celebrate my birthday in this stunning province. Really peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The actual hiking experience is only about 4 hours due to travel time. It is recommended to depart at 06:00 and return on time at 15:30 to complete the entire itinerary. Due to the remote location, the driver and passengers will coordinate a reasonable stopping time. Here is the actual itinerary and time for the day: 06:00 meeting, 06:11 departure, 07:02 arrival at Yilan Railway Station, 07:38 arrival at the 7-11 at the foot of the mountain for a 10-minute break, 09:41 arrival at the Taiwan Beech Trail, 13:00 meeting, 14:06 arrival at Jiu-Zhi-Ze Hot Spring, 15:05 return trip. Lunch is at your own expense, find time to eat. Parking is not allowed at Jianqing Trail, but you can temporarily park in front of the trail for the convenience of hikers. If you haven't been to Jianqing before and have the above situation, you should communicate with the driver in a timely manner. Jianqing is a truly worthwhile trail to explore. It takes some time to get up the mountain, and passengers who are prone to motion sickness due to the winding roads must take motion sickness medicine. Even if you don't have a habit of motion sickness, you should still bring a bag with you on the mountain for the 02:30~ car ride.

It took about an hour and a bit to get to Taipingshan from Yilan. We rode the Bong Bong Train, visited the Jiancing Historic Trail, and went to Jiuzize Hot Springs. The weather was great today, and we even saw a sea of clouds. The driver was very punctual, and the overall experience was excellent.

Our tour guide, Mr. Zhang, was very responsible, friendly, and punctual. He explained the history and ecology of Victoria Peak to us, allowing us to learn a great deal about it while enjoying the scenery.

The driver drove very smoothly, and the support assistant responded promptly to any questions. The scenery this time was beautiful, and we saw snow-covered trees but no snowfall. We didn't have to pay for snow chains, but the return time was different from the schedule, I don't know if it's because we left very early. Another pity is that Jiu-Zhi-Ze hot spring seems to be closed for bathing recently, tourists who want to go for bathing should pay attention! Then, if you want to cook hot spring food, it is recommended to bring your own to cook. Just rent a basket for 20 yuan, the food on top is too expensive, we brought our own eggs!
