Nagoya Shirakawa-go & Takayama & Kanazawa 2-Day Small Group Tour (Departure from Nagoya)

Such a great tour with good enthusiastic guide 小Xi and safe Japanese driver. Big coach was clean and comfortable. The scenery along the way was beautiful. Everything went well. We were very lucky to have a guide who spoke clearly and gave detailed instructions, information and recommendations both verbally and through WhatsApp. The itinerary was excellent with sufficient time at every stop. The tour is self-guided so we enjoyed the flexibility to do what we want and roam around freely based on the many places suggested by 小Xi who WhatsApp the exact location on Google maps to us. He also provided maps and gave food suggestions. We stayed at Hotel MyStays Kanazawa. Rooms are clean and new but very small. Double bed is also very small for two people. Best to ask for twin beds when booking this tour. Breakfast at the hotel was great with a wide spread of local and continental food. Overall we enjoyed this tour very much. Highly recommend this over a day tour to Shirakawago/Takayama.

This time I participated in the easy go two-day one-day tour on January 12-13, 2025. The itinerary was great. There are two Chinese tour guides, who very thoughtfully introduce the order of shopping at each attraction. On the first day from Nagoya to Takayama City, there were rest stops to use the restroom. The first stop is Gaoshan City for 3 hours. The second stop is Gassho Village for 2 hours. The third stop was WING International Premium Hotel in front of Kanazawa Station. the next day. The first stop is Kanazawa Kenrokuen Garden + Kanazawa Castle Park for 2 hours. The second stop is Omi Town Market for 1.5 hours. The third stop is East Tea House Street for 1.5 hours. It takes 3.5 hours to drive from Kanazawa to Nagoya. In the middle, we stopped at the rest stop "Sonano Plateau SA (上り)".

Tour date: November 29-30, 2024 Tour guide name: Kaku Praise to tour guide Kaku for his excellent performance on this trip. His expertise and attentive service made the entire trip more enjoyable and smoother. He paid great attention to every detail during the trip and if we had any issues he resolved them quickly and efficiently so we had nothing to worry about. His patient explanations and enthusiastic guidance gave us a deeper understanding of the destination and added a lot of fun. I am very grateful for his hard work and professionalism and hope to have the opportunity to work with him again in the future.

This is a great trip. As we don’t drive, it’s very try convenient to join the tour and I don’t have to bother the traffics. We just need to assemble outside Nagoya Station and the bus would take us to Shirakawa-go, Takayama and Kanazawa. On the first day, it took around 2.5 hours from Nagoya Station to Shirakawa-go, then we spent 2 hours there. After that it took around 2 hours to get to Takayama and we spent 3 hours there. We were lucky enough to eat at the famous grill beef restaurant Maruaki （丸明). After Takayama, the bus drove us to Kanazawa and we stayed at the HOTEL MYSTAYS Kanazawa Castle. It is a very comfortable hotel with hot spring and we were able to have a good rest. On the second day, we spent 1 hour at Kenroku-en, then 1 hour at tea house street and finally two hours at Omicho Market until 2:30pm. It took around 3.5 hours to travel back to Nagoya Station. Overall, it’s a wonderful tour.

This is the happiest Klook group I have ever joined! Thanks to tour guide Moon and driver Master Ding for their care and arrangements. Our group members are coming to the Philippines and Singapore. Thank you for taking care of us. We spent a wonderful two days with you! This time I took a small and medium-sized car, which was relatively comfortable. Moon also specially arranged for us to check in to see the snow. The southerners said they were really happy! We also went to eat roast pork with our group mates and tour guide, it was cheap and delicious. I don’t think Kenrokuen Garden is interesting because it rained that day and the cherry blossoms were not in bloom in mid-March, which was a pity. The hotel I stayed in this time was nice, and the shampoo products were very moisturizing and suitable.

Guide was Ricky and he was helpful and generous with recommendations on what to look out and what local food to eat. We reached all 3 places on time and there was sufficient free time to explore around. The trip also includes a night stay at a hotel at Kanazawa, thank you!

Enjoyable trip, it’s great that I am able to bring my luggage with me into the mini bus which was convenient to me, journey was a bit of uncomfortable with confined space and was seated on a wheel tops . Overall is an amazing place to visit. Strongly Recommended.

I have participated in KKDAY's one-day tour (Mei Shan Thatched House) before. The tour guide at that time was very responsible. He kept introducing the tour on the bus, took us around, and even took the initiative to help everyone queue up to buy the popular donuts. I thought it would be the same this time... I didn't expect... The only staff members accompanying the tour group were Chinese speakers. They talked for five minutes before arriving at the station, and when we arrived we were really confused and had no idea where to go (because I thought I didn't need to do any homework in advance when joining a tour group, as the tour guide would explain everything). I was a little angry and clicked on the description page to confirm again. The "tour guide" option was indeed not checked. No wonder Xiao Dong said so much, after all, it was not within her job scope. It's just a pity that I didn't plan the route well in Gassho Village. Not only did I not go to the observatory, I also didn't go to the three cabins. I wasted time queuing for that pudding, but in the end I gave up and didn't buy it... If I had done my homework in advance, or the tour guide had recommended a route, I would have had an idea in advance, and I wouldn't have missed both places and left with regrets. In fact, the focus is on the Shirakawa-go itinerary on the first day. The Kanazawa itinerary on the second day is rather boring. If you are not interested in the itinerary on the second day, you can also consider taking a day tour, but it may be a bit rushed? We stayed in Takayama City for three hours and in Gassho Village for two hours. Personally, I think we don’t need to stay in Takayama City for three hours. If you include meals, about 2.5 hours would be enough. So we should leave half an hour for Gassho Village. After all, that is the highlight of the whole trip! But the accommodation is highly recommended. It is close to Kanazawa Station and the room is spacious enough. There were three of us sleeping in a quadruple room and there was plenty of space to unpack our luggage. In short, it is recommended to join the local one- or two-day tour when going to a more remote suburb. However, if you want more guide information and can follow it without thinking, you can find a guide service. Otherwise, you will be confused like us and even waste some time.

I've joined this tour before, but this time the tour guide was very responsible. At each attraction, they handed out maps to us and marked how to get around. They also told us where the good food was and sent us links, which was really useful.
