White & Blue Temple Full-Day Cultural Tour

I had an amazing trip with our guide, Wen. Although the schedule was quite rushed, she managed the entire group very smoothly. Since this is a “check-in style one-day tour,” it’s important to keep expectations realistic and not expect too much in terms of depth. But honestly, I can say this experience really enriched my overall impression of Chiang Rai. It also gave me the opportunity to travel with a group of people from different countries, which made the whole trip even more meaningful and memorable.

It is a quite exhausting journey yet it is remarkable. The guide is friendly and he took a lot of pictures for us. All of us really enjoy the tour. The food for the lunch is delicious and all the temples are awesome. I highly recommend this tour. Please be prepared for the journey because it is a long one.

Starting at 7:00 AM, the driver will pick up guests from various hotel entrances. The drive from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai takes about 3 hours. We'll first visit the Long Neck Karen village and a hot spring area for a break. We'll arrive at the White Temple around noon, followed by the Blue Temple, and finally the Black House. Lunch is included in the itinerary, which is quite convenient. Although the journey is a bit long, we'll return to Chiang Mai around 7:00 PM. It's a great day trip to see Chiang Rai's main attractions.

it was a great experience and I recommend doing this day tour. We went to four places. The first place was Long Neck Karen Village. It’s a little pricey and there’s not much to do. However, I recommend supporting the community. The White Temple is very beautiful. There were many people there. we had lunch before going to the White Temple. the food was good and there were vegan/vegetarian options. The Blue Temple was also beautiful. It was a little crowded. The last stop was the cafe. I really liked it. It feels magical there.

This Chiang Rai Instagrammable Places day trip is a long but worthwhile experience if you want to see the main highlights in one go. Every stop is touristy, so it's best to set expectations early. Mae Kachan Hot Spring was a quick break where I grabbed coffee and bread from nearby shops. The Long Neck Village ticket is 300 THB and felt more like a shopping area than a cultural visit, but I treated it as support for the tribe and bought a scarf. Lunch was at a local Thai restaurant before visiting the White Temple, which is beautiful and well crafted but very crowded; the golden toilet building was a fun detail. The Blue Temple was stunning and my personal favorite, though small. Lalita Café was magical and great for nature lovers, with reasonably priced drinks, but extremely crowded. The 3.5hour drive back was tiring, but overall the tour is affordable, well organized, the guide was informative, and the trip is worth it.

Our guide Matthew/QQ was amazing. He really made sure everyone had a good time. Explained a lot about the temples, talkative, and approachable. And always willing to take pictures for you. I think he made the group dynamic so much better. Fascinating temples and really got nice pictures out of it. Thanks to our guide we also learned a lot about buddhism, hinduism and Thai culture.

We were fetched on time at 7am from hotel, had pit stops for bathroom breaks and coffee/tea breaks, visited white temple (temple entrance fee and lunch were included in package though we decided to eat elsewhere), we stopped by Karen Long Neck Village for optional B300 entrance fee, there was also a hot springs pit stop (buy your own egg/s to boil in the spring), blue temple (free entrance, you may buy optional blue ice cream) and IG worthy Lalitta Cafe (with a B60 discount voucher towards food or drink you purchase there), then back to hotel with one pit stop by 7pm. Going to Chiang Rai first half of roads are winding and may make some nauseous so manage your breakfast and expectations. We visited in September which was surprisingly scorching hot so bring fan and hat. As always, when entering temples, women must cover knees and shoulders to be respectful.

if you are visiting Chiang Mai you cannot skip Chiang Rai. it’s a comfortable one day tour with almost 2.5-3 hours drive one way. The white temple will leave you speechless. Blue temple is amazing as well. And lalitta Cafe is mesmerising. Our tour guide was super nice and gave us a lot of information

amazing experience at the day tour in Chiang Rai. Booked the tour through Klook and had an amazing timely hotel oick and drop service. the temples were amazing and Lalita cafe was beautiful as promised. overall had a great time and would definetely recommend the trip to everyone
