Wanlu Lake Scenic Area

Wanlv Lake Scenic Area (also known as Xinfengjiang Reservoir) is located in Dongyuan County, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province. It is known as "the Jade Pool water in heaven, and Wanlv Lake on earth." As the largest lake in South China, it is not only an important drinking water source for over 40 million people in Guangdong and Hong Kong, with water quality consistently maintaining National Surface Water Class I standards, but it also gets its name from being green all four seasons and everywhere. The lake area covers 370 square kilometers, dotted with over 360 green islands. The color of the lake water changes from dark green to light green with different angles of sunlight, making it an ecological paradise for getting close to nature and breathing fresh air.

The scenic area boasts numerous unique attractions, with Longfeng Island being the most representative. It is located in the wide center of the lake, named because the island's shape resembles a dragon to the east and a phoenix to the west. The island features picturesque natural scenery and is surrounded by water. Especially in late autumn and early winter, the mountains are covered with fiery maple leaves, making it a popular spot for photography. At the same time, Longfeng Island is also known as the "Island of Love" of Wanlv Lake, featuring romantic landscapes such as Magpie Bridge, concentric locks, and a love trail, making it ideal for visitors to immerse themselves in love and enjoy a pleasant vacation.

In addition, the scenic area has delved into humanistic and natural science popularization, creating a rich array of recreational experiences. The Jinghuayuan Scenic Area, built based on the Qing Dynasty mythological novel "Flowers in the Mirror," not only has a profound cultural heritage but also offers dynamic and static activities such as characteristic performances of the Women's Kingdom, high-altitude ziplining, and botanical science exhibitions. The Shuiyue Bay Scenic Area, on the other hand, is an excellent natural education and research base. As an important habitat for the "giant panda in water," the peach blossom jellyfish, it integrates science popularization, sightseeing, and entertainment.
