Taiyuan Zoo

Taiyuan Zoo is located in the northern part of Taiyuan city, making it an ideal place to visit with children. The zoo is filled with plants and flowers, lush trees, and numerous potted plants. The paths within the zoo are well-connected, and upon entering, visitors can follow the signs to various scenic areas.

The main exhibition areas of the zoo are divided into three sections: large herbivore and carnivore viewing areas; avian, small and medium-sized carnivore, and omnivore viewing areas; and small and medium-sized herbivore viewing areas. Each area is further categorized by animal species into different exhibition halls or scenic spots. In the zoo, you can admire precious domestic animals such as golden snub-nosed monkeys, Siberian tigers, and red-crowned cranes, as well as rare exotic animals like white rhinos, giraffes, baboons, and zebras.

In the "Huaguoshan Scenic Area," you can see primates such as chimpanzees, yellow baboons, squirrel monkeys, and ring-tailed lemurs playing on Monkey Mountain. In the "Grassland Style" scenic area, you can observe large herbivores like elephants and rhinos. The impressive "Natural Forest" predator zone features Bear Mountain, Lion House, Leopard House, Wolf Den, and Tiger Garden, where fierce beasts reside. In the "Birdsong Blue Sky" scenic area, there are exhibition halls such as the Flamingo House, Waterfowl Lake, Peacock Garden, Songbird House, and Raptor House. Here, you can hear hundreds of birds singing, watch peacocks spread their beautiful tails, and see various waterfowl playing freely in the lake.

The zoo also offers various animal performances, including sea lion shows, elephant shows, and circus performances. Performance times may vary, so please refer to the daily announcements at the zoo. Food and beverages are available at the zoo's dining services. Visitors with children can also go to the amusement park to enjoy rides like bumper cars (some attractions require an additional fee).
