  • Atami hosts year-round maritime fireworks festivals, with the grand finale featuring a spectacular sea fireworks waterfall, accompanied by live 3D sound, allowing you to experience a unique Japanese romantic fireworks display with the sea breeze.
  • Explore the hidden wonders of Hakone, seeking out healing landscapes reminiscent of "Spirited Away," where the mountains, water, and forests create an immersive atmosphere, drawing you into a fantastical Japanese-style world from an animation.
  • Mount Omuro, an Izu landmark, with its rounded shape resembling a matcha pudding, is known as a sister mountain to Mount Fuji; its summit crater is the prototype for the meteorite crater in "Your Name," and a cable car ride offers panoramic views of the entire Izu region.
  • The level crossing in front of Kamakura High School is a classic filming location for "Slam Dunk," the prototype spot for Ryonan High School. The retro Enoden train paired with the azure Shonan sea makes it a must-visit youthful photo spot for anime fans.

What to expect

  • Atami Fireworks Festival Different from the summer-limited fireworks, Atami stages sea fireworks performances regularly throughout the year. The entire show culminates in an exclusive sea fireworks waterfall, where water and fireworks intertwine in the air. Accompanied by three-dimensional surround sound, watching the sky full of fireworks in the evening breeze by the sea offers an immersive experience of unique Japanese gentle romance.
  • Enoshima A popular seaside island on the Shonan coast of Kamakura, accessible by walking across a small bridge. The island features the century-old Enoshima Shrine, a lighthouse offering panoramic views of Sagami Bay, and streets lined with affordable seafood snacks. On a clear day, you can clearly see the outline of Mount Fuji from the sea, and the sunset by the sea in the evening creates a soft atmosphere, perfect for a leisurely stroll.
  • Kamakura Koko-mae Station A pilgrimage site for countless anime fans, it is the prototype of Ryōnan High School’s railway crossing in “Slam Dunk.” The retro Enoden train runs approximately every ten minutes. The train passes through the seaside level crossing with the expansive Shonan coastline in the background, recreating classic scenes from the anime. Standing at the intersection waiting for the train to pass, you can easily capture youthful seaside street photos.
  • Mount Omuro A dormant volcano located on the Izu Peninsula, with a rounded and gentle silhouette. Due to its light green slopes resembling matcha pudding, it is affectionately called Mount Fuji’s sister mountain by tourists. The summit retains a sunken crater, which is also the prototype for the meteorite crater scene in the anime “Your Name.” Taking the cable car to the summit offers a 360° panoramic view of the entire Izu Plateau and the nearby bay, making it an iconic natural viewing spot in Izu.
  • Lake Ashi, Hakone A tranquil freshwater lake formed by volcanic activity, with distinct scenery in each of the four seasons. In winter, the snow-covered mountains create a healing, fairytale atmosphere. Cruising the lake on a replica retro pirate sightseeing ship, you can admire distant views of Mount Fuji. The historic Hakone Shrine is located on the lakeside, with its red torii gate by the water exuding a strong Japanese aesthetic. Coupled with the retro tram winding through the mountains, every corner is filled with a dreamy atmosphere reminiscent of a Ghibli animation.

Review for: Mount Omuro & Atami Route - Tokyo Station/Shinjuku Station Meeting Point (Regular Group Tour)

This was my first time joining a Klook Tokyo local tour, visiting Mount Fuji and Atami to see the fireworks. I was a bit worried at first because the tour day was a Sunday, and it was also the first day of Japan's Obon Festival. However, to my surprise, our tour bus driver, Mr. Sato, had an excellent understanding of the road conditions and knew how to take shortcuts to avoid traffic jams. We even arrived at Mount Fuji 40 minutes earlier than scheduled. Additionally, our tour guide, Ms. Serina, was very responsible, meticulously organizing our itinerary, arranging our ascent up the mountain, and ensuring we had a great spot to watch the fireworks by the sea. Her service attitude was exceptionally dedicated. Therefore, I highly recommend both the tour bus driver, Mr. Sato, and the tour guide, Ms. Serina.

Review for: Kamakura & Atami Route - Tokyo Station/Shinjuku Station集合 (Regular Group Tour)

Huge thanks to our amazing guide, Andy, who was super kind and professional throughout the trip. At first, I thought I wouldn’t be able to visit Kamakura Koko-Mae Station (the famous spot from Slam Dunk) because the trains weren’t operating. But as soon as the trains started running again, our guide worked hard to make sure we could visit the spot and take photos. It was such a meaningful experience to stand there in person, and we really appreciated the guide’s effort to make it happen for us. It couldn’t have been easy, so thank you! As for the Atami fireworks, they were absolutely incredible—seriously, so good! SUPER GOOOOOD!!! Overall, this trip was super fun and memorable. And I will recommend this Klook trip to my friends.

Review for: Mount Omuro & Atami Route - Hotel Transfer (9-person small group)

I've joined Klook tours many times, and this was my first small group tour. It was really good; we didn't have to wait for too many people to gather before setting off. However, I do have a small suggestion: after the fireworks, it was very late, and everyone was rushing to catch the last train. I hope next time on the return trip, you could drop off guests who need to catch the train first, and then take the hotel guests. Last night, hotel guests were dropped off first, and I was quite worried that the last train might have already left.
