Nagoya Inuyama Castle & Magome-juku Full-Day Cultural Tour

One of my best moment in Japan ! I really enjoyed this day trip ! Summer, our lively guide, was very friendly and always attentive to the group. The timing and the organisation were perfect. I recommend this excursion ! Thank you also to Hito, our nice driver.

Our Chinese tour guide Amy was very helpful. I accidentally dropped my passport at Inuyama Castle, and she helped me call the castle to ask them to hold it for me. When I went to pick it up the next morning, they were very careful and asked me what color the wallet holding my passport was. Amy helped everyone take pictures, and at each stop, she told everyone the meeting time. The only downside was that the microphone on the bus suddenly broke, so people in the back of the bus couldn't hear anything. But the good outweighed the bad. The AC in the back of the bus wasn't working well, and I was sweating in my sleep 😅. There were so few tourists at Magome-juku~ Not as many as I imagined~ Very few shops were open, and it felt a bit desolate. Inuyama Castle is one of Japan's five great castles, and I'm very happy to have been able to visit it. Although it's not as big as other large castles, its historical significance is very important! Thanks also to the Japanese driver for his hard work that day! (I even bought a heart sutra canvas bag with a cute animal design at Magome-juku! It's super cute! If you like this kind of cute illustration style, I recommend you go to Magome-juku and visit the proprietress!)

The Nagoya Inuyama Castle & Magome-juku Full-Day Cultural Tour had a well-planned itinerary and offered a great cultural experience. The places we visited were beautiful and worth seeing, especially for those interested in history and traditional Japanese towns. It was quite hot during the tour, which made the day a bit tiring, but overall, the experience was enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who wants to explore the cultural and historical side of the Nagoya area.

We had a very good experience with this tour. It is very nice, and we enjoyed all of the places in the itinerary. Our tour guide was very helpful and kind in assisting my mom, a senior citizen, in every location we visited. We had a very good time with Tomica, our tour guide. It is a recommended tour if you want to see Inuyama Castle and see houses from the edo period.

The tour was very well organized and did not feel very fast paced. All of our Co-travelers came on time and no one is late coming back to the bus. The sceneries were very beautiful and picturesque. My family and I had a great time. If you have seniors or people who have trouble walking or hiking, this tour might not be recommended since the places we went needed to hike. But overall we had a great time. Our tour guide, Li, was very attentive and helpful. She was very good in Chinese and English.

Inuyama Castle was a highlight — the very steep steps were unique but may be challenging for the elderly, and the panoramic view at the top was beautiful. It drizzled at Magome-juku, but the walk to the Ena Gorge Observation Deck still offered lovely views. Unfortunately, it was raining a little heavier by the time we reached Tsumago-juku, so we explored briefly and rested at a café instead. The driver kindly provided umbrellas, and the guide was lovely, speaking both English and Mandarin. Do remember to check the weather forecast, as it can really affect the pace and experience.

Excellent Tour Review: An Immersive Walk Through Magome-juku Edo-Era Townscape I recently returned from a trip exploring the historic townscape of Magome-juku (馬籠宿), and I must say this was one of the most impressive and superb experiences I’ve had while exploring Japan's Edo period history! If you are looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of major cities and wish to experience authentic old-world Japan, this scenic walking tour is an absolute must-do.

The itinerary was well organized and efficiently paced. Since all participants arrived early, we were able to depart ahead of schedule. As it was a holiday, our tour leader, Miss Shu, flexibly extended our visit to Inuyama Castle to one and a half hours while still allowing us to complete all the remaining attractions on schedule. Although the tour did not allow as much leisurely shopping as a self-guided trip, it covered the main attractions efficiently. Miss Shu provided clear explanations and thoughtful arrangements, and she also helped recommend a restaurant and communicate with the staff at lunchtime. Overall, it was a well-organized and highly recommended tour.

Very good tour for solo travellers whom want to cover Gifu, no hassle of changing transportation and navigating your own different sites eyeing. We are able to enter Inuyama castle and all the way up to the viewing gallery. Our Tour Guide, Xiao Tu, was very kind to help us take photos and at the end of the tour, she even recommended some of the popular eateries of Nagoya.
