this is a wonderful 1hr show. highly recommend. the music, dance, costumes, cast.. even real live horses come on stage. there isnt a lot to see in Jiuzhou Pond but arrive by 6pm if you want to climb / visit the main building as it closes at 7pm. show tickets are checked around 10min before show starts so no need to come too early. if it rains, youre given thin raincoats = luckily it stopped raining in time for the show!
One of the best shows I've ever seen. Visually impressive. Couldn't view the voucher on my phone. Had to call the local agent there. Her name is Lucy and fortunately, she was able to help me by sending the voucher to me via Wechat
Phoenix dance in the divine Capital is an excellent performance worthwhile to be experienced if you travel to Luoyang, one of four ancient capitals of China. This show is not well marketed and I believe it is only sold on Klook to International tourist. The story is about Emptess Wu during the Tang dynasty who ascended to the throne. Sound, staging, lighting, dances are all excellent. The live performance has dances, martial art weapons demonstrations, live camels, fire and flame throwing, and even real cavalry charges! if there is one area for improvements, how to get to the show venue is not essy. Even within the Juizhouchi scenic area, the signs are confusing and lacking for foreign tourists. Even though the show is in Chinese, one can come for the visuals, the sights and sound.
A beautiful show of music, lights, dancing, and acrobatics. And at the end, you can even take photos with some of the performers! To get the ticket, I was in contact with Lucy, and everything went very smoothly. I was able to reach her anytime via WhatsApp or WeChat. Thank you!
A mesmerizing performance that carried the elegance of ancient Luoyang.

  • As the core imperial garden of Luoyang City in the Sui and Tang Dynasties, Jiuzhou Pond itself carries a rich historical memory. It was once an important venue for royal banquets and celebrations, symbolizing "the nine prefectures of the world," and witnessed the glory of the prosperous Tang Dynasty. The "Phoenix Dance in the Divine Capital" performance is set here, based on historical stories from the era of Wu Zetian, allowing the audience to touch the true historical脉络 and feel the prosperity of Luoyang, the Divine Capital, a thousand years ago, while watching the performance. It perfectly integrates historical culture with modern art, endowing the performance with a unique cultural soul.
  • The entire performance takes Wu Zetian's enthronement ceremony at the 应天门 (Yingtianmen Gate) as its main storyline, meticulously designing multiple chapters such as "Song of Yingtian," "Golden Armor's Might," "National Beauty and Heavenly Fragrance," "Tribute from All Nations," and "Phoenix Dance in the Divine Capital." Through brilliant plot arrangements, it deeply showcases Wu Zetian's legendary life, breaking the monopoly of aristocratic families, establishing a dual system of civil and military appointments, and allowing commoners to rise to high positions. The story not only demonstrates the empress's great vision and strategy but also delicately portrays her deep emotional ties with the city of Luoyang, making the audience feel as if they have traveled through time and are immersed in that magnificent historical period.
  • Relying on the natural garden water system and Tang-style architectural complex of Jiuzhou Pond, the performance creates a unique multi-dimensional three-dimensional stage. Pavilions, towers, and clear blue waters all become part of the performance. As the audience strolls through it, they can appreciate the architectural aesthetics of "winding corridors and soaring eaves" and experience firsthand the grand scale of royal ceremonies. From the solemnity of the palace to the bustling prosperity of the market, the transition between different scenes fully displays the unique charm of Luoyang, the Divine Capital, providing an immersive viewing experience.
  • Boldly utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as AI imaging, VR + IR + 3D, the performance injects modern charm. As night falls, brilliant light and shadow are cast upon the shimmering pond surface, vividly presenting the busy scene of boats coming and going on the Sui and Tang Grand Canal, and the mysterious and compassionate face of the Lushena Buddha, through water screens, cloud carpets, and aerial projections. The perfect combination of digital technology and scene presentation breaks the limitations of time and space, showcasing the geographical grandeur and profound civilization of Luoyang, the Divine Capital, with stunning visual spectacles.
  • The performance integrates various art forms such as song and dance and martial arts. In the graceful dances, peony flower fairies move with elegant postures and light steps, displaying the exquisite artistic conception of "flowers moving the capital," fully demonstrating the elegant charm of Tang Dynasty court dances. In the powerful martial arts performances, men of the prosperous Tang Dynasty move agilely in military formations and arena competitions, with flashing swords and shadows, vividly depicting the grand scenes of battles against Tubo. Different art forms intertwine, combining strength and grace, comprehensively showcasing the cultural and artistic charm and the spirit of the prosperous Tang era.
