Gather around 8:30 AM, then tour [Humble Administrator's Garden], one of the "Four Great Gardens of China," renowned for its waterscapes, highlighting the Jiangnan water town style, elegant and generous.
After lunch, tour [Hanshan Temple] for a scripture transcription + bell-striking experience. Hanshan Temple is also a popular place for prayer, with a constant stream of worshippers coming to strike the bell, burn incense, and pray for peace every day. Striking the bell is a traditional Buddhist ritual, and striking it three times has specific symbolic meanings, representing not only "good fortune, prosperity, and longevity" in Buddhist culture, that is, blessings upon arrival, high official rank and generous pay, and prolonging life, but also a way of praying for blessings.
Then, tour [Fengqiao Scenic Area]. Fengqiao is an ancient bridge in the western suburbs of Suzhou, Jiangsu, spanning the Shangtang River and is a single-arch stone bridge. Tie Ling Ancient Pass: The relics left over from the Ming Dynasty's resistance against Japanese pirates have become a barrier to the western gate of Suzhou. Fengqiao Ancient Town: Crossing through Tie Ling Pass, it is a narrow and ancient street, the remaining part of the ancient Fengqiao Town, with Tie Ling Pass and Hanshan Temple on both sides.
