What to expect

Explore Japan's Coastal and Rural Hidden Gems: From Funaya Boathouses to Thatched-Roof Villages, every step is a postcard-perfect scene 🌊🏡.

  • First, arrive at Ine Funaya, known as "Japan's Venice." Over 230 boathouses line Ine Bay, creating a picturesque scene with transparent waters, deep green mountains, and ever-changing skies. Stroll or cycle 🚴 along the coast, visit the niche spot "Funaya Biyori," and enjoy the bay's beauty with a cup of coffee ☕️. Don't forget to experience the unique structure of the funaya, with the first floor serving as a boat garage and the second floor as a residence, offering a taste of authentic fishing village life.
  • Next, head to Amanohashidate (During the cable car maintenance from April 14th, 15th, and 16th, the experience will be held at Kasamatsu Park), one of Japan’s Three Scenic Views. Approximately 8,000 pine trees grow on a sandbar in Miyazu Bay of the Sea of Japan, forming a bridge-like structure reaching to the heavens. Ascend to the observation deck of Monju Mountain for a panoramic view known as “Hiryu-kan” (Flying Dragon View) 🪁. The white sand beaches on both sides of the sandbar are perfect for a stroll, and you can visit Amanohashidate Shrine within the pine forest to pray for love 💖. You can also visit the ancient well “Iso Shimizu” to experience the spiritual energy of Japan’s famous waters. Monju-do Temple enshrines the Bodhisattva of Wisdom, and the temple gate and revolving bridge add to the charm; the sight of the revolving bridge turning when large ships pass through is truly amazing.
  • Finally, visit Miyama Thatched Village, which, along with Shirakawa-go, is one of Japan's three major thatched-roof village clusters. In Kitamura, about 40 of the 50 households retain their thatched roofs 🏘️. This tranquil place feels like a fairyland, as if you've traveled back to the Edo period. We recommend taking photos of the red postbox 📮 and the rows of thatched roofs, and observing the ancient wisdom of "Chigi" (ornamental roof crossbeams) and "Yukkiwari" (snow-splitting structures). Enjoy Miyama milk ice cream at "Cafe Gallery Ayaka" or visit the Folk Museum to learn about ancient household tools and interior structures, experiencing the unique charm of Japanese rural culture.

* This journey combines the pristine scenery of a fishing village, stunning sea views, and ancient village culture. Whether for photography, walking, or relaxing, it offers a soothing and healing travel experience 💛.

We love the tour so much and had a very excited experience in this trip. Just that the time for each stops is too short, but overall still acceptable. Our guide, Yuki is very talented with multilingual in Chinese, Japanese, Korean and English, friendly to answer all our questions patiently. We really enjoyed for this day trip.

Review for: Meeting point (Korean speaking guide)

I was rushing to plan a family trip and found a tour to a region I'd always wanted to visit, so I signed up, and it was fantastic! Before, when there weren't any tours, it was too time-consuming and expensive, so I couldn't even consider it. I'm glad we were able to go affordably. My parents were also completely satisfied with the trip. The scenery was truly beautiful, and we even got to feed Japanese shrimp crackers to seagulls from a cruise ship, but then eagles showed up, which was unique and wonderful. The itinerary was perfect for seeing Kyoto and then moving on to other places for those who wanted to. I was worried about these rare tours having many foreign participants, but our guide, Lee Song-ran, explained everything in Korean, Japanese, and Chinese. This was great because my parents, who don't speak foreign languages, were more interested in the places we visited thanks to the Korean explanations. I truly highly recommend it. Go on the tour!

A relaxing bus ride from Osaka. Very reasonably priced! Our guides didn't talk the whole time (one spoke Korean/Chinese, the other English/Japanese). They informed us when on our way to spots but otherwise kept a peaceful atmosphere. The time flew by despite leaving around 7:25a and getting back around 5:30p. Once we arrived it was self guided to wander with a set time to explore so spend your time wisely! Our guide Liu was organized, friendly and professional. Make sure you have WhatsApp/WeChat for contact, especially to recieve info about where you're going! He was on it, especially when he had to stop another passenger from getting on the wrong bus! Bravo! The weather was overcast and rainy at first but became nice later in the day. The boat houses were special! Amanohashidate was beautiful, but View Land was closed so no attractions were open except for the cable car (plus side was it wasn't swarming with children). The thatched roofed village felt like stepping into history.

This is my third time using Gogoday service for my groups, and every time the guides have been very helpful. They shared a lot of useful information, and we really enjoyed the trips. We especially enjoyed visiting Amanohashidate, Ine, and all the beautiful places they brought us to. This time, I booked again with an additional trip to Kayabuki no Sato, and it was another wonderful experience. The customer service is also very kind and responsive. I am very satisfied with their service, and for sure, I will book with Gogoday again next time. Highly recommended!

Tour guide Hu has a deep knowledge of Japanese culture and shared many historical stories about Japan. He was also very diligent in explaining the routes and offering suggestions for each attraction. Due to the long distances and time constraints for transportation, we generally didn't have enough time to take photos, browse, or shop properly. Furthermore, the platform did not inform us in advance that the single-person chairlift at Amanohashidate was undergoing annual maintenance; we only learned about this from Tour Guide Hu on the bus. We are very dissatisfied that the platform did not inform visitors beforehand, especially since some people might have specifically wanted to experience it. However, we are grateful to Tour Guide Hu for arranging for us to take the cabin lift instead. Overall, considering the tour fee, the day felt less cost-effective as we were constantly rushing, but we were fortunate to have good weather.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jay as my tour guide for my family on this trip. Overall, it was a very worthwhile trip and value for the money. The itinerary was very compact but neatly scheduled to make sure that everything was executed perfectly thanks to Jay. Will definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking for a simple day tour to fill their schedules. The only unfortunate thing was that this trip would’ve become more beautiful in the winter (and colder haha)

The tour was very fun and enjoyable. The places are really scenic and worth seeing. Because the attractions are mostly open spaces, it didn’t feel very crowded even though multiple tour groups visit the place together. I would probably walk around Ine Funaya rather than take the boat if ever I go the next time. The boat was nice because you could take great photos of the houses but it felt like you couldn’t really immerse yourself in the surrounding. If there was a point of improvement, I feel like the guide could have been a bit more accommodating. It felt like he was very preoccupied with the time more than ensuring the guests enjoyed their trip. Since the tour group was quite big, it would have helped if he could maybe explain the history or give instructions by batch especially for thos who fall behind. It was slightly irritating especially in Amanohashidate when we would get reminders of the time every 30-45mins. That said, the tour had to visit so many places in a limited time.

We really enjoyed the tour—the place was beautiful. We just didn’t expect the heavy snow, but we were still very happy. Our English/Chinese tour guide and driver were extremely kind and very accommodating. I highly recommend this tour—100% super satisfied!🥰❤️

Good to know

Special note: If you choose to take the Ine boat tour, there will not be enough time for cycling exploration, and the Ine Funaya houses are private residences, so you cannot enter them on your own.

  • Eagles are often seen in the Ine Funaya area. If you see an eagle approaching, please immediately stop feeding the seagulls and put away your feed to prevent being pecked by an eagle. Please do not purchase tickets for "Amanohashidate View Land Cable Car" and "Amanohashidate Boat Tour" on your own, as these tickets are for a different direction than this itinerary and require extra travel, which may affect the overall play time and experience.
  • [Regarding front row seats] Front row refers to the first three rows of seats, which will be arranged by the tour guide on the day. Please be aware.
  • According to Japanese law, the use of vehicles must not exceed 10 hours, so the tour guide may adjust the itinerary based on the actual situation on the day.
  • We will send an email to guests between 20:00 and 21:00 the day before departure, informing them of the tour guide and vehicle information for the next day. Please check it promptly. The email may be mistakenly classified as spam. During peak season, email delivery may be delayed. In special circumstances, if you receive multiple emails, please refer to the latest one.
  • If you have time to take the sightseeing boat, please note: Due to the large number of eagles in the Ine Funaya area, please be careful when taking the sightseeing boat. If you see an eagle, please immediately stop feeding the seagulls and put away your feed to prevent being pecked by an eagle.
  • We will do our best to arrange seating requests, but since this itinerary is a shared car tour, seat allocation mainly follows the first-come, first-served principle. If you have special needs, please inform us in the remarks, and we will do our best to arrange suitable seats for you. The final arrangement will be subject to the tour guide's coordination on the day. We hope to receive your understanding and tolerance, thank you for your consideration.
  • Please be aware: Since this activity is a group tour, there may be guests of other languages traveling with you in the same car.
  • Since the one-day tour is a shared car itinerary, please be sure to arrive at the meeting point or attraction on time. No refunds will be given for late arrivals, and you will be responsible for any unexpected expenses and liabilities incurred due to lateness.

  • This product may be adjusted based on factors such as weather. To ensure your safety, staff have the right to ask guests to stop outdoor activities and communicate with you to make other arrangements. The specific situation will be based on the actual situation on the day.
  • The transportation, sightseeing, and stop times involved in the itinerary are subject to the actual situation on the day. In case of special circumstances (such as traffic jams, weather reasons, etc.), the tour guide may reasonably adjust the order of play without reducing the attractions in the itinerary, after considering the actual situation and obtaining the consent of the guests.
  • Each guest can carry a maximum of one piece of luggage for free. Please note this in the "Special Requirements" when placing your order. If you do not inform us one day in advance of temporary carrying, it may lead to crowded compartments and affect driving safety. The tour guide has the right to refuse you to board the car, and no refund will be given.
  • We will arrange different car models based on the actual number of travelers and cannot specify a car model.
  • During the group itinerary, you cannot leave the group early or midway. If you choose to leave the group midway, the uncompleted part will be considered as voluntarily abandoned, and no fees will be refunded. You will be solely responsible for any accidents that may occur after leaving or breaking away from the group.
  • Seasonal activities (such as cherry blossoms, autumn leaves, special flower seasons, illuminations, fireworks festivals, snow viewing, hot spring seasons, festive activities, etc.) are greatly affected by climate, weather, or other force majeure factors, and specific arrangements may be adjusted. Therefore, please refer to official announcements. If no clear official notice of cancellation is received, we will arrange according to the original plan. If the flower season or special activities do not meet expectations, no refund will be given.
