my first pod hostel in Japan and I generally enjoyed it! showers, bathrooms and room floors were clean, complimentary toiletries, a nice top floor lobby, and women-only. my only 2 gripes: 1. the locker areas were crowded at times, as this was the only place people could re-organize their luggages. i had to hop over a lot of people and had to close up my own luggage/locker to let people through as well! it's quite tight quarters but as expected with the building. 2. it's generally quite an anti-social hostel - most people just use it to sleep, shower, storage, there aren't any group opportunities and not much socializing/talking at all. totally fine as it doesn't really market itself as a social/party hostel! i'm used to meeting people at hostels so i did wish there was maybe a Whatsapp group chat to join and pitch activities to. otherwise, it's in a central location close to trains, and it is a little dodgy at night but I never ran into any issues when around the building. would rec!

Cool experience for a night! A bit of a far walk from the station, but fun bars and places to eat or explore nearby. Clean facility and available amenities. Staff are quick to respond to questions or concerns via email on their website. Packing up your things during checkout time is very cramped and crowded due to limited locker space and everyone leaving at the same time.

hotel location: 10-15mins walking distance from Shinjuku and kakibucho cleanliness: very clean shower and toilets! bed not the most comfortable but good enough for short trip
