Great place for short visits

Right in the heart of downtown. Lots to see, great restaurants. Great buffet style breakfast! Fantastic Italian restaurant next door to the hotel entrance. The hotel has no driveway, pull up to the front door, unload everything onto a cart. Troy, the bellboy was very nice and will help you with bags to your room upon check-in. Secure parking down the block. Be prepared to give up your car keys to the parking attendant and wait for them to retrieve your car when ready to leave. Just about all services in the hotel are free. Happy hour serves free well drinks. The rooms are small but comfortable. Small refrigerator and safe but no microwave in the room. Overall, a nice place to stay while visiting San Francisco. Thank you, Troy, and to all the hotel staff, great job! Looking forward to a future stay.

Nice property

Excellent deal. Reasonably priced, convenient location. Excellent service from the staff all around. Breakfast was extensive. Would stay there again.

We arrived early and the lady in the front desk allowed us to check in early. She is really nice. The bldg is old but well maintain.Room is clean and big. Elevator is fast , no long waiting. The only thing that is not good , theres a used coffee cup beside the tv , maybe the housekeeper didn't see it.

This hotel seems to be a hidden gem. It was amazing. Lots of history in the place, it was like staying in a museum. You could spend a day just exploring the hotel. People were incredible, friendly, helpful, I felt like a friend and not just a guest. The room I had was well appointed, with the usual, things. TV, safe, desk chairs, large bed on the firmer side and very comfortable. The shower had no water saving mechanism that I could tell, felt full on pressure. I forgot what that was like. There is laundry facilities on site, I did not use them, but I was quite happy to learn that. The complementary breakfast is extensive, not just a few things, but a real breakfast bar. There is a happy hour in the late afternoon/early evening. If you choose to eat there, the food is wonderful and very reasonably priced. This is not the most luxurious hotel I have stayed in, but probably the most fascinating one. I would pick this place over most other hotels I have stayed in easily.

We had a wonderful stay at the Marine hotel! Friendly staff, great breakfast and the room was spotless. A beautifully maintained historic hotel, we will definitely come back next time we visit San Francisco!
