The staff at the hotel was wonderful and they were always friendly and willing to offer assistance. The hotel is beautiful and directly in the historic city center. The free breakfast was delicious and so was the restaurant. Loved the hotel! Expedia should have notified us that there was a huge protest (with noise) out in front of the hotel and the Zocolo was closed to access. The Zocolo was one of the main reasons we stayed in this area, so we were disappointed.

Amazing stay, although we were in the middle of a demonstration and certain road closures, our stay was a positive and warm welcome to Mexico City, the restaurant was such a gem to have! We appreciate the staff and everyone there that made us feel at home and we couldn’t thank you enough. The building and all its amenities were top notch. Gracias casa de la Luz. Muy amable…

I have already reviewed this place on Google Maps, Trip Advisor, Yelp, and Facebook. Now Expedia wants me to leave a review! OK, what can I add to the superlatives for Casa De La Luz? We have been Platinum VIP status at Expedia for several years. It's our modus operandi to seek out boutique hotel properties in city centers. In the entire world, this is probably the nicest hotel we have stayed in this price range, and comes close to some very expensive places we stayed. In the EEUU, we have used an expression "It punches above its weight," meaning CDLL is performing well and above expectations in every category. This may sound trivial, but we use toilet paper as a metric for hotel ratings. This place uses Kleenex "Cottonelle Deluxe Ultra," a premium brand that is not found anywhere in most hotels (even expensive ones). Every amenity provided: the Nespresso pods, the cooked breakfast, the hotel restaurant, the outstanding service, is among "best in class." CDLL is a lovely restored historic building, a wonderful place to stay in Ciudad De Mexico.

The property is unique and beautiful. Exquisite preserved details and careful attention to detail in every way. The staff were helpful and always pleasant, the two restaurants offered delicious dishes. We had breakfast several times and it was perfect, especially the espresso drinks and the fresh juices. The rooftop restaurant was very chill and we had a lovely meal there (try the crab tacos!). Central to everything in the historic area, if you are looking to stay in a boutique style hotel with careful attention to every detail, this is your spot!

this is really just one of the most unique and beautiful hotels I've ever been in, and the restaurant on the top floor has great food is a serene but interesting setting. Apparently the building was constructed approx. 500 years ago and it feels like you're staying in a castle. Beautiful and totally unique stone work to appreciate as well. The staff was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and super helpful. A short walk away from the central square and is surrounded by the central historic district. Big 5 stars!
