Fantastic
Close to the waterfront and Pike Place market. The hot breakfast is very good. The area seemed generally safe although we did see some homeless people, as in every city. About a 20 minute ride to the cruise port.We would definitely stay again if in the area.

Fantastic
Our unusually large room was GREAT-comfortable bed, wonderful pillows and everything needed for a great hotel stay. The mini fridge had plenty of room to keep some snacks cool or handle leftovers from dinner. The hotel breakfast was incredible-amazing selection of fresh fruit and the hot breakfast items were excellent. Wonderful coffee both in the room and at breakfast. This was much better than most hotels that we have visited-it compares well with European hotel breakfasts. The Polar Bar in the lobby is spectacular. A comfortable private club feel and ambience. Superb service in a lovely space. We enjoyed the historic ambience throughout the entire hotel. It looks "right" but is entirely modern, clean and new-very inviting and fun. The Arctic Club is very convenient to public transit stops for both rail and bus. We enjoyed exploring the area with the bonus of not having to drive. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome in every area-front desk, luggage assistance/storage, room cleaning and food service. We would come back whenever our plans took us to Seattle-and will look for Oxford Group Hotels in other cities as well!

Good
My daughter and I stayed at the Arctic Club Hotel July 18–21. We had mixed feelings. The historic property is attractive, the bar is nice, and the staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the hotel itself seemed to be struggling operationally. Our room wasn’t serviced Sunday, so we returned that evening to find no fresh towels or coffee. It was serviced Monday, but the coffee still wasn’t replenished. Breakfast was fine Sunday, mediocre Monday, and on Tuesday there were no eggs, meat or fruit. My daughter ended up having tea and toast, I wound up with coffee and yogurt. So much for breakfast. There were other annoyances: lots of stairs at the entrance, a dark and tired-looking lobby, and a wall lamp in our room that didn’t work. I was also charged $17 for a minibar item I hadn’t consumed. The front desk promptly removed the charge when I questioned it, but I could easily have missed it. Despite my arranging a 12:30 p.m. late checkout with the front desk, I received an 11 a.m. call asking why I was still in the room. It was quickly resolved, but hardly gracious. I don’t enjoy leaving negative reviews because I genuinely liked the staff. My impression is that the problem isn’t the people, but that there simply aren’t enough of them—or that management isn’t giving them the support they need. The Arctic Club has a terrific property and good people. With better management attention and adequate staffing, it could be an excellent hotel.
