Very interesting. At Yang Guang, we experienced archery, and it was a lot of fun! We also rode in the donkey cart!

Fantastic 5.0
The entire journey exploring the Hexi Corridor along the Silk Road went smoothly and was very well organized. Traveling through this unique side of China offered a completely different perspective rich in history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes. I highly recommend following the itinerary step by step, as each destination is carefully planned and adds meaningful context to the overall experience. It truly feels like walking through history. The driver also as our guide, was incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout the trip. Their support made the journey even more enjoyable and comfortable. Overall, this tour is highly recommended for anyone interested in discovering a lesser-known yet historically significant region of China.

We were so lucky to have Mr. Zhang as our driver for this Hexi Corridor trip! First, I have to commend his driving skills. He drove incredibly smoothly the entire way, whether on highways or challenging roads, making us feel safe and comfortable throughout the journey. He was also incredibly patient and attentive, not only explaining the history and culture of the places we passed, which made the scenery outside the window come alive, but more importantly, he flexibly adjusted our itinerary based on our time and energy levels. This ensured we visited all the highlights without feeling overly tired. We saw the vibrant colors of the Rainbow Mountains (Qicai Danxia) and experienced the profound history of ancient ruins. The entire trip was relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable. I highly recommend him to anyone planning a trip to the Northwest! Mr. Zhang, you definitely deserve a bonus!

Fantastic 5.0
Our guide, Xiao Guan, was easygoing and cheerful, and very talkative. He shared local customs and traditions throughout the journey, making the long drives full of laughter. What was most impressive was his thoughtfulness: before we got out at each attraction, he would provide detailed touring tips in advance. He also flexibly adjusted our itinerary based on the weather and available time. Along the way, he didn't forget to recommend authentic local dishes, and thanks to him, we discovered several small eateries known only to locals. With him, the entire trip was worry-free and enjoyable. Highly recommended!

What to know before visiting Jiuquan

Overview of Jiuquan and what travellers book

Jiuquan draws most Klook bookings for tours, attraction passes and cultural experiences, with demand rising and falling through the year. May is the busiest month for bookings while December sees the lightest demand, so the city’s visitor rhythm swings between a clear high season and a very quiet winter.

When to visit and how prices behave

Klook booking data show May as the peak month and December as the trough. Prices move differently from demand: the priciest month on record is July while the cheapest month is typically June, so crowds and costs do not always peak together. If you want lower prices and fewer people, aim for June or December; for peak-season atmosphere pick May or the mid-summer months when activity and some prices trend higher.

Tips for travellers from Malaysia

Most travellers tend to book around three weeks ahead on Klook, with some last-minute options available about five days out, so you can be flexible but planning pays off for popular dates. For Malaysia departures, consider booking tours a few weeks in advance if you’re travelling in May or July, and use Klook to lock in tickets and passes early to secure your preferred dates.
